EDIT: 10/21/2024

Try calling from a different phone number as they screen and ignore patient numbers that they know.

Actual providers are great.

HOWEVER, like many others have noted, the front desk staff is medically negligent. In multiple ways. If they tell you they'll send a message to your care team, make sure you have them read it to you and ask if anyone specific on the care team will be asked to respond (otherwise no one will). Front desk staff also often gives you conflicting information that could result in harm to you and your family's health.

ALSO, the referrals department at this location is a joke. Anticipate waiting 2-3 years for your referral to actually make it to the referred specialist (has happened on three different referrals-the only three we had-for my family since 2019). They won't send the referral for weeks. Insert excuse about queue of referrals. Then they will give you the run around about insurance or not accepting new patients, even when you've been in contact with the referred specialist and none of these are accurate. Then the will say that your referral is too old and you need a new one. And the whole cycle begins again.

Things that work: conference call the referred specialist and the referrals department (make sure you are actually talking to referrals not the front desk that will "send a message to your care team").

And report these incidents to Open Door. They have a new Ethics Point website for making reports. Go to main website, drop down menu for "Contact Us", scroll to blue box for Ethics Point reporting.

I had to get a primary care provider. Open door was the closest. My experience with them has been terrible. They seem incapable of even making referrels to specialists. The doctors and nurses I hav3 seen seem incredibly distracted, as if they aren't even listening to me while they look at the computer instead. They mention things in my files that have no relevance and then they go away, to "check" my urine test. They then determine I have an infection, order antibiotics and that's it. They act as if I had not mentioned the other issues I am having concurrent with the infection such as the stumbling, and dizziness. My health has deteriorated since going to them but nothing is done. They do not correct misinformation in my files even though I tell them to. I feel that they don't think holistically and this is a serious problem. They only address specific issues. My best resource is the emergency room to get proper treatment. In sickness, I have been unable to get an appointment . They don't have a list to call people to let them know if they have a cancellation. The receptionists seem to lack
knowledge and they lack compassion. What more can I say? I don't even know if there are any better offices to go to that take my insurance.

Dr. Bloch threatened me by saying ā€œyouā€™re deadā€ when I went for help with a serious pneumonia infection. He denied I had any pneumonia and said he wanted to request ā€œa chaperoneā€ be with me if I want to come in there. These guys have fake doctors and so far, my family receives fraudulent ā€œcare.ā€ These offices should be closed and replaced with real Doctors or even a farm would be better for the community!!!!

Rotating staff of doctors and nurses that donā€™t care about your health, they try to get you in and out as quick as possible without actually addressing your issues. Tried for for months to get a referral for a CT scan and they wrote the referral wrong every time, never got it. They cancel appointments youā€™ve been waiting months for with no notice. If you value your health avoid this place.

This facility is a hot mess. The Physicians don't have time to spend with their patients or time to write up files or referrals. They forget. Stay on them.
I also had the lovely honor of sitting in the lobby while the crew in the office got doirdash McDonalds at 930 in the morning. I have NEVER experienced a more UNPROFESSIONAL office. There are a handful of 4 star employees, thus the 2 stars. If you can avoid it, do.

Impossible to contact anyone here, phone has been busy since 10am it is now 3pm!!! This happened yesterday when I tried to call and had to give up and now again today!! Hard to believe they don't have a phone system set up where multiple calls can come in at the same time, and maybe one is sent to a message box if they are on the line! But a busy signal for two days straight...really!?! Also referrals are a joke here. I have a large lump inside my cheek, my doctor was nervous about it... a referral was sent over for it to get looked at 2 months ago, which she did say it could take that long, I followed up and it had NEVER BEEN MADE!

I wish I wasnā€™t so angryā€¦I went to clinic to see about swelling in my elbow. The assistant trainee noticed a couple of scabs on the same arm and asked about them. Cat bites from a frisky kitten. The ā€œDoctorā€ looked at my medical records and asked if I remembered having a rash from a drug prescribed years ago. I said no. Other that the fact that Iā€™m sneaking up on 80 and was in pain, my penicillin allergy is LISTED in my chart! This doctor then prescribed the same medication where the previous rash was documented, ignored the allergic notations in my chart, prescribed the same medication, and three days later I developed a rash from head to toe. Not just a rash, but huge red welts everywhere. When I called, another assistant called back and told me it was MY responsibility to notify the doctor of that issue and basically it was my fault because the doctor didnā€™t connect getting a rash from a penicillin based antibiotic. It was a new trainee who noticed the cat bites and the diagnosis of gout was ditched. I grew up with a mother who was a surgical nurse in Palo Alto and then at Stanford Medical Center. Since early childhood, Iā€™ve had only one kidney. Iā€™ve had great lifelong medical care until Dr. Carrol retired from this clinic. I know my body and know when to ask for help. The people who cared for me in Mck should be ashamed but deflecting the blame to me was the final straw in an overwhelmed system, impossible communication, and very very short appointments. Be careful going there and trust your instincts and ask questionsā€¦but donā€™t expect the truth. Lots of dodging and weaving. Be ready or go someplace else!

I called today, at 10:39 AM. Tina answered the phone after 10 minutes of hold. After I introduced myself, I hear "click"... she hung up on me. I call back again immediately, thinking it was a mistake, and after another 10 minutes of hold I got Tina again. Same thing, I introduce myself and "click" she hangs up. So I call back a 3rd time, again, another 10 minutes of hold. Tina once again. This time she rushes me through the conversation, but hey, at least I got my appointment. Please learn some respect for your patients
