We stayed at the Lodge on base. Everyone read very welcoming and pleasant especially our maid. She is so sweet and made sure we had ensign we needed and kept the place clean. It's a very good venue if you have a few parties staying here. The common kitchen. Lounge. And dining area while be great for meetings or a meal together, or just to have cocktails before going out.

As an ex-Navy man, outside of the SEALS performing special ops, there's no finer fighting force than our nation's Marines. I've had more Marines as friends than I have shipmates, as a civilian, and can vouch for each being ready to show their honor and loyalty when called upon. As for the community services... I just keeping walking by... I'm no longer even allowed on base. There's a lot of construction in the area though so beware of some traffic but haven't seen any backups yet.
