Very fun group of people with an extensive variety of unique skillsets, coupled with an equally good amount of specialty equipment geared towards fabrication and crafting. If you like fun conversations and learning about a wide array of subjects, it's certainly worth a visit.

Makers local 256 is a makers space that once you join allow access to a wide variety of really excellent tools including welders, plasma cutters. 3D printers etc. the folks are really nice and show you how to use the tools. Great place for huntsville.

Awesome space: friendly, helpful community with a huge breadth of knowledge and the desire to share; tools galore (woodworking, laser cutting, welding, tailoring/cosplay, electronics, etc); flexible hours. Great place to connect, learn, and work.

Awesome place. Unfortunately not a member as I don't live nearby. Laser and vinyl cutters, 3D printer, hand and power tools for wood and metal working, as well as electronics, sewing and everything else you would need to learn to be self-sufficient.

An excellent maker-space. I was in the area and dropped in for the retro gaming annual event. Everyone was very friendly and easy going. The space they have set up is great.

Makers Local 256 is a motley crew of fun individuals that enjoy tinkering on everything from Pottery to electronics. If you want to build something they have the knowledge somewhere.
