It appears that the office phones have been disconnected seemingly since September.. even their own personal numbers have all been compromised, cant leave any messages or ask any questions. How are folks supposed to get ahold of the office if they are unable to physically access it?

Madison County DSS is a joke. They choose what gets swept under the rug, they don't investigate complaints. NC says they must investigate within 72 hours but they don't. This county really deserves 0 stars. This department should really be investigated!

I see so many posts about them being unfair I wanted to say these people everyday wake up with an impossible decision if they choose wrong they could leave a child in a horrible situation or even take a child from a healthy one and without them the kids who need help would have no voice I believe a lot of people make excuses "my kids were taken because they are jerks " my experience was different our teacher called in kindergarten my daughter had a black eye when asked she says daddy did it! Lol now the black eye happened during a wrestling match in their make shift ring when said daughter dove off the couch hitting her face on his elbow when he put his arm up to cover the family jewels 😂 luckily all was caught on video as we were recording her smooth wrestling moves lol we were investigated for weeks they separated and spoke to our kids and done a thorough job all while never making us feel judged they went so far as to say our goal is to keep families together they offered to help us furnish towels, blankets , Christmas gifts for the kids luckily we didn't need any but the point is they offer help in any way they can if you come at them defensive of course you make it harder on yourself there are good workers and a lot are at Madison DSS!!!

Called asking what the best way to go about a situation. Lady seemed irritated that i even called. I talk to her about what was going on then by the end of it asked if that was all and then kept saying bye and hanging up on me. Honestly kinda stunded about this.. I still have no idea what to do..

Update: They made the situation worse. They went to the house of where the problem was and also outed that i had called about the issues that were going on in the home. Thanks...

2024 update: She turned 18 and now lives with me. Madison dss can go f themselves.

Finally feel comfortable posting about this after a year. But this agency is the most horrid and anti-family agency on the planet. I went to a mental hospital for a week when I was 17 and because i happened to test positive for a harmless plant (that I now have a prescription for because i’m in a legal state) in the ER. The day after i left the hospital, (in which i was extremely mentally vulnerable as that place also sucked) CPS called my parents saying my entire family needed to come, and then proceeded to single me out and insult me by saying that i have “no direction” and that i’m “just gonna be another dumb druggie that spends their entire life walking around hot springs” and proceeded to bring a cop into the room to degrade me more and spew reefers madness propoganda. They then proceeded to threaten my parents with removal of me and my other brothers if i didn’t test negative next time (in your system for 30 days btw). They backed off after they realized we were a normal family. But the initial experience was so horrific that it’s ruined my trust in any authority and sent me back to the mental hospital again not even a month later. This agency ignores abusive parents and meth addicts but will go after a 17 year old for using a plant that’s legal everywhere else. Don’t be like me, at least stand up for yourself instead of hiding it for a year.

You guys should all be ashamed of yourself for the way you treated me. You didn't even know if I was guilty or not because you didn't know investigation before you treated me the way you did. Shame on you Mandy Schlueter. I knew you were standing over the phone when I called and you pretended like you weren't there. You really should have investigated this before you took the word of an officer's wife working at my son's school. If all that were true, don't you think they would have called you before? I 've seen court dockets of Prior cases that mirror mine with all three of your names involved. When you profess to work on the side of the law, you need to act accordingly. That was extremely unprofessional.

Gordon was very friendly and helpful. He knew his job very well and was very pleasant to work with. Terry was very knowledgeable about his job also. He answered questions that I had for him. They made my trip very enjoyable.

This place is useless you try to be honest and get medicaid and you can't because you have to be disabled it's wrong but Mexicans and people who lie can get it
