They WILL NOT answer the phone it’s a building full of lazy ppl. It’s Always “ call you back within2 business days” really they’ll call you back in 2 weeks or not at all. They make appointments without your consent and expect for YOU to be there or call to reschedule ( you can’t bc they don’t answer the phone!!!!) and when you can’t it’s automatically counted as you didn’t want or need the assistance.

Been helping my son’s “father” dodge his responsibilities since 2014 and going strong. This has to be one of the most useless group of individuals under one roof. Had multiple caseworker changes over the years and I never knew until I called there myself. They never help with anything and Jesus will come before they return a phone call. Management needs to be fired and more qualified and useful individuals need to be hired instead of them hiring their friends. Isn’t it illegal to hire someone there without posting the job publicly first?

I've NEVER had a bad experience there. It's never been crowded and waiting room is quite and I've always been seen right away and treated w respect by very nice staff and I've been at least a dozen times thru the years. I'm thankful for our health dept and consider Sanford lucky to have a quite, effecient, effective and fast health dept. Even after I aquired my health insurance and had other options I opted to continue my visits with them?

hispanic lady up front wasn’t allowing me to get my fishing license and asked if my passport was from mexico based on what I looked like and previously have gotten it there and it was never a problem until she started working there rolling her eyes and everything and didn’t allow me to get it and now i have to go somewhere else and find a place and have to pay which isn’t about that but knowing she was rude and saying we couldn’t get it bc i had to have my social as if she couldn’t look me up in the system.

Update: Two months later, and I still need assistance. Can’t get anyone on the phone. Quality and speed of service with DSS is non-existent, and I feel empathy for the ones that need serious assistance.

Ginger with Lee County DSS has no idea about anything. Asked to speak to someone else who may be able to help get my enhanced account privileges turned back on to be able to make changes to my account online, but wouldn't even help me with that.

Called them dozens of times over the years and they never help me. Leave messages and get no calls back. Can’t even get them to do something as simple as switch the primary care dr for my child. They’ve caused me so many problems over the years. The woman I spoke to today cut me off while I was speaking and transferred me to someone totally irrelevant to my question. I moved out of the area years ago so going in isn’t an option yet still haven’t been able to get my stuff transferred out. Obviously if you’re going here you probably don’t have other options but just be prepared and definitely go in if you have the option. They’re more incompetent over the phone.

Cannot ever get ahold of anyone and when I do they tell me to contact someone else instead of trying to help me. They are dragging out this process much longer than it should go and it is a time sensitive matter. This is ridiculous and beyond frustrating. Someone please take accountability and help people rather than pushing it off on the next person.
