I volunteer weekly at the Lantern House. Wow! The staff is kind, thoughtful, and provides endless services to those in need.
The meals that the St Anne’s soup kitchen provides are really nothing short of amazing!
They are always not only nutritious but look delicious. And they get great feedback from those eating. Staffing is a concern so they are always in need of employees, as well as more volunteers , but they still manage to have wonderful food prepared. Others can join this cause by either a monetary donation or by dropping food off directly . Get involved and help make your community a better place!!!!

I had a decent experience even though was unable to finish it due to I believe an active protest. The staff at the front desk is amazing always remembers your name, talks in complete sentences as well as ask how you are doing! I normally do not like to put names on a review for safety reason in this case I still will not. A nice safe experience with the Lantern House!

They do not really help people out other that feeding them if they can even eat the meals they provide. They say they are there to help yet kick people out that are trying to get help from them. Refuse to give helpful information.
I give them a negative 5 star rating.
Do not go there if you have an even of any kind. They are negative Nancy in the flesh

I reached out to the Housing Prevention program on the 12th, was told I qualify for assistance with paying my rent, and wasn’t informed until the 25th that I need an eviction notice so didn't qualify for their services. They provided me with resources for the trauma I’d experienced but nothing for housing. They seemed indifferent to the situation they had put me in with finding resources to help me with my rent when this was brought to their attention. I would ask very detailed questions when requesting services from them, as they don’t seem to understand what information to provide for their services, and seem to lack an understanding of the importance of timing when assisting their clients. They were short with me over the phone until hearing about my situation. Having been a case manager myself previously, I was surprised by their conduct and lack of care

I was once homeless here back in 2016.
I ran away from home because I had not much to live for and I ended up in Ogden, Utah. The people that work at the lantern house were very kind to me (I wasn't on drugs and didn't have a criminal record and I worked at a temp service while staying there) about a month in, I got accepted into job corps and got flown to Darby, Montana where I lived for about three years before I came back home to Ohio where I am now married and have a family (:
I wonder if they remember me there at the Lantern House? It really is a good place to get back on your feet so long as you are not fooling around and take it seriously... the people that work here are doing the best they can and not everyone who comes to stay here are honest and clean from drugs. A lot of people suffer from mental illness and also take drugs so not everyone is reasonable and I can understand why at times the staff can be short with people.
Anyhow, thank you Lantern House for helping me when I was down. I'm doing well now 👏 🙌

Drug infested, garbage infested, and just outright pathetic! It's sickening and sad how this place operates!! Employees act like they care but they don't, they are lazy and treat people like they are trash or criminals in jail, although yes, there are VERY FEW who do care and are respectful and understanding people. Their Policy seems to always be changing, some days they enforce them but most days they do not enforce them at all. They expect the homeless and vulnerable to follow these policies but they don't even follow them themselves. People do drugs right in the open and staff doesn't seem to care. And oh let's not forget the drunk men who drink and harass women or physically assault women. But hey they have a no drugs and alcohol allowed policy, but do they enforce it? Of course not lol cops, ambulance and firetrucks are there Constantly. The place is like a grown adult high school drama club. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, and just so unsanitary. Food is terrible most days. Definitely do NOT recommend bringing children here! Oh and also the place is known for parvo and many animals have died here because of parvo outbreaks. Make sure your pets are VACCINATED! I could say tons more but I'll just cut it short and say unless you want your life ruined more, and to be set back further in life, do not go here for help. They won't get you very far. This place is like a soul trap for the devil himself lol. (I'd rate this a 0 star if I could)

Completely unremarkable.. I have been here on the property with my 80lb suitcase for 2 weeks searching for a job and a place to stay and I have accomplished that through the drama of toxic staff members projecting toxic traits of sarcasm and a narcissistic help system with the homeless here to get them to comply. To make matters worse the suitcase I have been accessing daily for these 2 weeks to use my sleeping bag, self-care essentials and other personal items including documentation with my social security number was all taken because they felt I used the locker too long yet there is a personal item in the cage right now that out aged my suitcase. Again I was here 2 weeks, my bags with me and it all registered in their system and my suitcase was labeled with my name on the sticker meanwhile they have my phone number and I was on the property all day and now I have nothing but the clothes on my back in this unsanitary facility. I've been waking up daily getting sicker because they refused me the right to use my sleeping bag when they don't use heat or have sufficient linen for the beds.

This facility services so many people in need. With my dad recently passing I had many things to donate from clothes, bedding, towels, winter clothing, boots and shoes. They were so grateful for the donation and I was happy to rehome the best stuff. It’s unfortunate there are so many that need this but grateful there is a place to help shelter the people that need it. Make this your first donation stop!!
