One of the worst experiences I have had. They do not help in the slightest. I've called, emailed, and tried other numbers to get help with no luck. I'm seen as annoying to them but I'm the only one who can advocate for myself because there’s no way they are willing to. I have been trying to get EBT reinstated and they say up to 30 days with no solution to get food in the meantime. I get responded with “you have to wait just like everybody else.” Im not asking for special treatment I'm asking for help due to the fact that I have no resources around me. Sadly I have no choice but to be stuck with them.

I moved out L.A county to Kern County. A case worker named Michelle is the rudest I’ve ever encountered. She’s no help at all. This is a job to help other’s not to ruin their benefits. Why do people get jobs like this if you’re going to be criticizing people’s life choices and life style. It’s nonsense

If I could rate zero stars, I would. I tried calling the telephone “service” center at 4:15pm and the auto attendant said “sorry, we’re closed” after informing me that their office hours are 8am - 5pm and several attempts at calling to find out about my Medi-Cal. The answer I got was “we are experiencing a-lot of calls and can’t take your call right now. Call back later.” I have also tried calling my “worker” at least 6 times and she has never called me back. I understand they are understaffed but they are also very poorly trained and even more poorly organized. I have tried, TRIED to be patient but its been a month since I tried renewing my Medi-Cal and I can not afford to pay for Covered Cal: which is a whole other tangle that it is impossible to navigate.

If the blonde gril doesn't want to do her job why work there rude not trying to help giving attitude trying for me to use the kiosk I went to the window for a reason when asking for her help talking over me her coworker had step in and offer to help since she was seen that blonde girl didn't want to help me hope she gets replace is not the first time I witness this with this particular secretary or what ever she is at the window I got out at 2:53 just putting out there since I didn't get her name she was working at the time and also want to put out there like the other people in the reviews about them not answering the phone for hours hopefully you guys do something about it

They take FOREVER! I call and it takes over 3 hours for someone to answer the phone and they have an attitude every time. I came in for an Ebt card replacement and they took over 30 minutes just for that. All the workers were having fun chit chatting laughing while everyone was waiting. Everyone here needs to be replaced horrible customer service.

I would just like to share a small bit of praise for this place. I have lived in Mojave for about 20 years now, all 20 of which I have been in poverty, unable to escape it. I am often a nervous wreck at this place, and the workers here are often understanding and willing to help me get the paperwork and filings done.

Now I am a dude who is pretty pasty white, native English speaker who doesn't understand any other language. I don't have a language barrier at all. I also live in Mojave, so it's often a short walk or a quick Dial-A-Ride for me, and for some this is the closest DHS building for them in the county.

But I have never been dismissed rudely, I have never been lied to, I have never had anything bad happen with the workers here. The only complaint I have is the size of the main lobby, and the TV that plays the same 5 minute video on loop. They can't change one of those, and the other one is probably more important than my sanity when I visit it.

I don't wish to accuse anyone who has a rough time with the place of being a liar. Maybe a worker did say something rude and they didn't know it. Maybe one of them was having a rough day and that was the breaking point. Maybe there was some subtle microaggressions. No clue, wasn't there. But I personally have only had a bad time due to my personal disorders, not the workers who feel they really want to help.

The office is empty but the workers are laxy dazy they really don’t care . They take so long I wish there was a higher up that can help

I'm incredibly frustrated with this office. Either no one answers the phones or I'm put on hold for almost two hours and get hung up on. The way the process paperwork is so disorganized, it seems as though they don't communicate with each other and my benefits end up being disconiued for reasons that aren't my fault.
