I visited Kensington’s Place open house on October 31, and the experience was outstanding. The food was not only delicious but also of high quality. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and it was heartwarming to see the residents actively engaged and genuinely happy.

I walked in as a partner in the community and got the chance to talk with Charlie at the front counter and was greeted with such kindness and professionalism. I also got to meet with Mariella and she was a very kind person. It was such an excellent experience!

Kensington Place care team and overall management have been so supportive and respectful to my mother since the moment she moved in. She is treated with dignity and kindness everyday. The staff involves her in a variety of activities and they even provide weekly local outings which she particularly enjoys. I feel so much less stress since she moved to Kensington Place. I know she is getting such excellent care.

Kensington takes such good care of mom! Every time I go there there are people encouraging her and looking out for her, and they really do work as a team to take care of everyone. There are all kinds of events to bring joy to the residents and to bring families together. I couldn’t chose a better place for mom.

Do not choose this facility for your loved ones. They physically and emotionally harmed my mother Executive Director ordered medication without family or PCP knowledge and administered. Had knives left available in memory care.

My mom has been here for over a year and let me say, thank goodness for our independent care manager and caregiver who noticed 1) bruises on my mom’s wrist and chest, with NO DOCUMENTATION (whether unnoticed or ignored by Kensington, who knows), and 2) my mom wasn’t getting her briefs changed regularly, was super lethargic and uncharacteristically quiet this week. Turned out she had a massive UTI that NO ONE at Kensington detected, because they don’t bother to provide incontinence care — they just say “hey, your loved one requires a higher standard of care so pay us more.”

Spoiler alert: the price tag doesn’t come with better care. Glad we are getting out of here. I fully expect to be pulled into the office and shamed for this review, so let me say: BRING IT ON. You asked how my experience was.

Mariella Montesinos was amazing. She gave FirstLight a great tour. She is very knowledgeable of the community and services the community provides. This community has everything and I would place my mom here.

From our care partners in Connections, smiles like Marlene’s waiting to greet you, to the kitchen staff, director, nursing staff, and ambience, Kensington has it all!! Love going in to visit my husband and so thankful he’s here!!
