This was a great experience for my family and I. My son really enjoyed the play structure and he was ready for the splash pad. It's a joyous place for a family gathering and we will return very soon. This park is one of the biggest and best parks I have been to in my life. Thanks Andalusia for welcoming me and this was a miraculous experience.

I’ve been taking my 17 month old for the past week now and we’ve both enjoyed it… until today when he wanted to play in the dome he had taken interest in and couldn’t because there was a crumbled up cookie that attracted bull ants. As I took him to other areas, I noticed the trash everywhere! Then on top of it, another parent had brought their sick child as she coughed all over the equipment. I know that’s not the park’s fault but with the “No animals, no smoking, etc sign” I figure we could add not bringing a sick child/adult into the mix.

My son has been playing with the Covington County Miracle League for years. Today we kicked off another season at Johnson Park. The numerous ball facilities here are A #1 top notch, including the soft field where the Miracle League plays. There is a large playground with swings, see-saws (or teeter totters depending on where you're from), a jungle gym and many, other amenities. There is a large pavilion with picnic tables and a gymnasium. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, they added exchange libraries! There were about 5 children's books inside and it made me extremely happy to see!

If I had to make any criticisms about the place, it would be that the restrooms are in a state of crisis. I realize that it's not the fault of the facilitators, as vandals have destroyed the dividers between the urinals in the men's room and the walls around the commode.

Overall, however, Johnson Park is yet another gem in the crown of Andalusia!

Seems to always be kept pretty clean. Like that the splash pad stays open longer in the evenings. Good for working parents who don't have time during the middle of the day. Did notice that the water fountain by the kids play area wasn't working. So my boys didn't have any way to rejuvenate. Other than that, cute little space to stop and let some energy out.

There are very nice facilities, but they are not always maintained well. At the swimming pool, there is trash under the pavillion almost every day. Clothes, trash, money, etc. Every where. It's sad to see such a nice place trashed like that. There needs to be better instruction for the beginner swimmers. The instructors have no survival training.

The "skate park" is unusable. all the ramps and rails are severely corroded. The pavement is covered with gravel and dirt making it impossible to skate. The splash pad is very nice looking it's the people who run the park that ruin that part of it. Beware the park custodian also that guy is on a severe power trip and is a flat out liar to boot
