Coming to this type of agency should be a place of refuge not a place where you are meet by security and told you must make an appointment because ` the are a protected agency and you cannot enter without am appointment'.I called several tones left several messages and received no phone calls back. I explained my problem, but there was still no call back. I am a social worker been doing this type of work for 12 years u til I was hit with burnout, stress, and addiction. Then it all came crashing down and I'm trying to get my life back. Yet this place who says they offer all these resources don't offer them when we need them,people living day to day seeking shelter, shoplifting there next meal, not knowing what the night will bring when the , doors will be locked on you or when the rent will be paid.I received no help a bag of canned goods,

They have dropped the ball on my case so many times. Every time they tell me to expect a call, I never get one. After four weeks I was assigned a case manager who told me she'd make an appointment on a certain day, then turned around and *closed my case* when my phone was "disconnected". IT WAS NEVER DISCONNECTED. I was making tons of calls on the day in question. She emailed me, but failed to mention that. I have to keep making calls to these people, and I am not getting anywhere nor am I getting any help.

Helpful..great place to get food...but they need to improve in getting more assistance for not just single moms in need...but middle aged single women in need.Things like gas cards, utility bills rental assistance and toilet paper and toothpaste.
Also please get better at returning calls promptly.

Disappointed with JFS's Housing Resources Program

JFS's housing program recently implemented a strict 60-day limit, which I found very limiting in the current housing market. Unfortunately, my experience with the program staff was unpleasant due to their rude demeanor. A longer program with more comprehensive case management and professional staff interaction would significantly improve the program's effectiveness in assisting participants.
