I first visited JLCN over a year ago. I was touched by the warmth of the people, the music, and the message. I came from a great church in Arizona and didn't think I was going to find anything like it here. I'm glad I found JLCN and have grown in my relationship with God through my experiences here. I really appreciate the opportunities for bible study, fellowship, and the community outreach that is encouraged and facilitated here.

My husband and I met at one of the home church groups in 2008 and since have introduced each of our 3 children to our community at Jewel Lake. We have left the state, but I can't say enough positive about our many years under Pastor MJ, our experience with Jewel Lake and its forerunner, Souljourn.
We were involved in some of the ministries (Awana's, Women's Bible study, Janitorial, Missions, Community Garden) and had a great time serving other people and working with others in the church. That said, we were constantly being ministered to by those around us. Through hard times and good times, sickness and health we were surrounded by friends that cared about our well-being, our family and our spiritual growth.
MJ Quick is an insightful, down-to-earth and passionate visionary, who works up some incredible sermons full of context, references humour and a chance for the listener to respond. His heart for his church is to see members be a Church to eachother instead of a church under a roof one day a week, and people that show the love of Christ to those they are closest to.
If you love to learn and be challenged, you'll like the sermons. If you love to serve, there is plenty chance. If you have your own passion but no niche, come make it here. If God's Love is foreign to you, some see what it's all about!
