The Jane k. Lowe Foundation has enhanced the lives and education of children from all walks of life. As a participating teacher in a summer class called "Lowe Academy": for Boys and Girls Club kids, the class took a thematic approach to an "integrated learning" experience, The classes were organized by Bette Yeager, and of course, sponsored by the Jane K. Lowe Foundation. The children LOVED it, and the teachers loved watching the kids loving learning! We all couldn't wait to get there the next day. This should be the model for the way schools should teach children, as far as I am concerned! One of the students went on to Lee High, became an Eagle Scout, and won the high honor of being invited to the White House to meet President Obama for his community service accomplishments. All of those children who participated in that summer program still have a bond which will last a lifetime, thanks to the Jane K. Lowe Foundation.
