Ivy Park at Palos Verdes is a very nice facility with apartment style living. The Memory care unit was just as nice as the other floors, they all look the same. I love how the Memory care unit did not have the hospital feel. It all had a home feel to the environment. My parents and I visited the facility, and they said when they are ready, that is where they want to live. The staff was very friendly and welcomed us all. The staff is very diverse. I love the feel of visiting Ivy Park.

I unfortunately have to update my review after a change in circumstance at Ivy Park. My dad had two falls in two consecutive days, we had decided to remove him from Ivy Park since they could no longer care for him. According to his nurse, each fall accelerated his late stage Alzheimer’s and our time with him is precious. When we moved my father to Ivy Park, we were assured that my father would not need one on one care, and that the community could meet his needs. They informed us they would hire additional staff to meet his needs (which was not done). Lo and behold, not even 90 days after his move-in, they requested one on one service for my father.

We vacated Ivy Park within 90 days of his move in date, and are entitled to a partial refund of our community deposit, which has not been received. In addition, they are continuing to charge us for his care for an additional five weeks after he left, and for his room rent totaling close to $15,000.

Today I received a not so nice letter from Ivy Park, informing me that if I do not pay immediately further action will be taken against me.

Sadly, in times like these, one’s true nature arises. Ivy Park is a business, the dollar comes first and is it not the loving community we were promised it to be. I am currently in contact with my father’s advocate, Ivy Park corporate offices, and the local ombudsman to file a report.

My Sister has been a resident at Ivy Park Palos Verdes formerly Sunrise for almost two years. She has resided in the Assisted Living facility on the fourth floor. I am deeply grateful for the kindness and care the staff has shown my sister. The facility is always clean and inviting. The meals are well balanced and the activities engaging. They have created a strong community for her to be a part of.

My mom was here at Sunrise Palos Verdes for 1 year. The team was terrific; kind, cheerful and always eager to help. The environment feels like a big house and is well maintained and kept very clean. The outdoor garden is gorgeous with patio tables and lounge chairs. For my mom, the key thing missing was a more energetic/social ambiance as it's a quiet community environment and with residents further along in health issues than my mom. My mom was seeking more energy and a wider range of activities and outings, so we made a change. Yet for those seeking a quiet, peaceful environment, I highly recommend this Sunrise, now Ivy Park, location and team.

Finding the perfect home for my Mom seemed impossible, but I am so excited to share that it did happen when she moved into Sunrise Palos Verdes. The move in process was so easy and everyone made us feel as if we really mattered, something that we don't get to experience much anymore. Every person we dealt with was kind and caring, the facility is clean and beautiful and she absolutely loves her new apartment. Mom has so many activities to choose from every day and has made great new friends. Seeing and hearing how happy she is reminds me that we made the right decision. She truly feels at home.

We had been doing some research for an elderly relative with advanced Alzheimer’s and came across Sunrise Palos Verdes. We went to visit the facility and really were impressed by not only the physical facility but also the people and the service - they had one floor dedicated to individuals who require memory care. This fit perfectly and it has been four months and it has been nothing but fantastic. The entire staff care for the residents. We stop by randomly and often and every time we visit, they are happy to see us. Our family member is well looked after and the food and planned activities are exactly what makes this place special. Thank you Sunrise for taking such great care of our loved one. It was the right choice for us as a family.

Ivy Park at PV is a very inviting community, from the staff to the property and facility. The Reminiscence 4th floor has impeccable caregivers and supervision that definitely helps to ease any concern of the care provided. Over and beyond care with love and attention. A true blessing!

My mother has been at Sunrise for two years. I live only 15 minutes from her and spent much time there. The care she has received is highly professional and very personal and caring. This is consistent with the experience I had when my father was in Sunrise of Bonita in San Diego. The facilities are wonderful. I would recommend Sunrise in general, and the one at Palos Verdes in particular. I know my mother receives the best of care no matter what the circumstances.
