Ivy park had my first review removed. Ivy park is staffing care providers who do not take their duties seriously. The staff doesn’t communicate with each other and this is why so many falls and injuries are occurring at this place. There is elderly abuse and neglect happening here and it’s being swept under the rug by the managers. Morena one of the care providers on the AM shift has dropped different residents on different occasions and nobody’s reporting these falls. The med techs and the managers do not care about these poor residents. This place is very dirty, the residents rooms and bathrooms, the dining room tables and floors, and the kitchen is very dirty as well. The memory care director Jessica is never there to answer your problems and concerns, there was a rat infestation going on that was swept under the rug. There’s ants crawling all over the residents. Please don’t bring your loved ones here.

I had been caring for my aged father for 6 years, which any of you who have done so know is not easy. I did my best to give him a good quality of life, however his dementia eventually became substantial enough that I had to find a place that could provide better care for him. With the help of a wonderful senior placement specialist I saw quite a few places and eventually decided on Ivy Park. It is a very nice clean facility, and I was happy with how their memory care was designed and managed, and also importantly it was close to home so we could visit easily and often. I put a deposit down and patiently waited. My father was placed in just a few months. Any great facility is going to be busy and full, right? Well, my guardedly hopeful and optimistic initial feelings were very soon reassured by how fantastically caring and dedicated I found the entire staff to be. Each and every person who I came across was so warm and hard working. Occasionally some issues would arise from my father's dementia that were not easy, but they always managed with grace and kindness. They were clearly very experienced in this kind of care, but more importantly they truly were caring, not just doing a job. I am so happy to have found them and have no hesitation to recommend them to anyone looking to find a nice place for their aging parents to live.

We just recently toured with Tamara in memory care and the executive director Brittany in AL. We were very very pleased and didn’t hesitate to leave the community fee to secure the unit for our dad. The community as a whole is absolutely gorgeous and we as a family stand hard behind our decision. From the residents giving us their feedback to the staff hand on showing us their passion for each and every resident throughout the community. Brittany introduced us to other families who made us feel like our overall decision was the best! We will be moving our dad in next week and we are looking forward to being apart of the Ivy park at Culver City family!

This place is a House of Horrors. My parent was there starting in 2021 and the place was fine before Oakmont LLC took over. After that, the memory care facility starting charging us hundreds of dollars without any notice. When we inquired the management team including the accounting department is hostile and also non responsive. The staff never knew what was going on and did not communicate with one another. My loved one was falling weekly without any assistance from staff. The staff called the ambulance every time they fell and we got billed thousands from ambulatory care despite the fact that my family has insurance. The Ivy has residents who are dirty, fighting, punching, injuring each other and there is no one watching residents. It is of very poor quality.

My wife moved into the memory care section of Ivy Park in June 2022. She's the youngest resident there and physically capable and active, unlike many of the older residents. She also has attention deficit disorder which means she requires more stimulation.

The Executive Director, Brittney Buchannan, and the Memory Care Director, Larianna Logan, have each brought my wife to their offices and given her papers to shuffle while they're working, because she loves to organize. They had her participate in baking cookies. They've even added a vanity in one of the alcoves, a bassinet and doll in another, and a small desk and old style typewriter with coat rack and briefcase in another, for all of the residents.

They decorate the place for holidays and seasons which gives a home-like feeling. The dining rooms are decked out for holiday meals. They often have live music and chef tastings for the residents and families. I came in once and found a harpist playing in the courtyard while dessert was being served.

When my wife moved in, I made a point of making sure that the various Directors and care staff all knew me. I befriended them all and I visit several times per week. I believe that on a subconscious level, the staff will take even better care of your loved one if they know that the family cares.

I've seen a lot of caregiver turnover, but that's because as Brittney once said, it's not a place to work if you're just looking for a paycheck, you have to have a passion for the work. I believe she's always looking for the best she can find.

I'm very grateful that I found Ivy Park for my wife. I think the staff is very loving and caring.

Do I start with the most recent events in the days leading up to moving my husband out?
- If so, that was finding ants in his bed!
-A plate of food was left on a small table for him to eat by himself after he had just suffered a seizure that caused paralysis on his right side.

Let me list the many ways I was disappointed with Ivy Park Culver City, and in no particular order…

*The care staff I spoke with was never aware of my husband's condition. so the treatment and care didn’t fit the illness/behavior.
*Prices went up, and resident care went down after Ivy Park took it over from Sunrise (which we were happy with).
*The location of emergency pulls is not even close to where the resident slept.
*They have no after-hours doorbell at the door, it seems small, but I had to drive home because I forgot my cell phone and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone inside. I was 10/15 minutes past the closing time and had called ahead to let them know I was running late.
*At the entrance, the handicapped buttons don’t open the doors.
*Nurses were not on staff at times and hospice care had to send one, which took over an hour to get there.
*Executive staff ate fast food during a meeting, after showing up 30+ minutes late. I rode the elevator with the co-worker who delivered the food to her when we met.
*Understaffed…..The Office Director answers phones at the front desk.
*I would find feces on the toilet seats.
*Clothing and personal items disappeared and are never found.
*The personal care items I supplied were taken and used on others.
*Other residents wander into rooms that don’t belong to them. While on a video call with my husband, my daughter witnessed another resident crawling onto his bed, leaving, and doing it repeatedly. I called the facility to get him out of there but there was no action taken. We watched it all on a live video call.
*We would be on video calls and staff would come in barking at them and change their tune very quickly when they would see he was on a video call.

I was a very active participant in my family members' stay at Sunrise/Ivy Park because of his young age, young daughters wanting to visit, and the facility's location. I could not imagine how they treat the residents whose families do not come and see them on a weekly or biweekly basis as we did.

The organizational structure of the business at this particular facility is not strong and the problems trickle down.

I didn’t find any of the executive staff professional and they are about $$ and the care of the residents is well below the line. If I was able to find a different place for my loved one, I would have moved him well before I did.

I agree in the other reviews that they are good at the initial sales pitch but I see it as more of a bait and switch.

Don’t get me wrong, there are a few people that work there that are true gems, but the constant revolving door of staff makes you wonder.

My husband and I are very happy with Ivy Park at Culver City! The ED, Britney, gave us an AMAZING tour (after hours) and we made sure to put all the pieces together with her right away. She was so attentive and made sure the move was comfortable for all of us! Her and the nurse came the next day to assessment my mother. Everything they said they will do was DONE! We highly recommend this community.

My Dad has lived here for almost three years and is incredibly happy here. The staff is wonderful. We've become friends with many other residents as well as their families. The facility feels more like a boutique hotel. I am so glad we hung in there through the challenges for the year that it was owned by Vintage. Sunrise is quickly enhancing what was already a great place. I love knowing that Dad is so well cared for. I highly recommend it.
