We went for the Island Farm Christmas night. It was very well organized with a lot of interesting information about the particular farm, but also Christmas traditions during the time period.
We looked in the detached kitchen with a full table spread of foods they would have served and were treated with cider, a cookie, and some fresh cooked meat.
Some friends made some dipped candles. We made wreaths to take home. There was also a tour of the main house.
A lot of fun for those who like history!

Fun place to explore. Interpretors give rich history and answer any questions you might have. Spent about an hour there and got to taste some herb tea from the garden. It's as accurate as one can get and like going back to 1847 for just a little while ...

Way underestimated this place! A LIVING history museum. The docents were so knowledgeable and helpful and what they're doing there is so very important for everyone to see!

My family and I (ages 6 to 57), went to Island Farm today. We had such a fun time, even my 2 teenagers (13 & 17) enjoyed themselves! We got to swing, play tether ball, make dolls, try natural tea from leaves on the farm, plus more. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! We're hoping to plan a bigger trip down here in 2 years and hoping to bring more family here. Thank you all for a fun experience!

I want to start by saying the staff there are amazing! We went for homeschool day where we were able to see a demonstration of blacksmithing, saw living quarters, saw how yarn was made from wool, candle making, and able to see various farm animals. I’m only giving 4 stars because I wish there were informational signs up around the building to read about each building/work area. We were kind of clueless as we were walking around the farm as to what was what.

One of the most enjoyable recent historic house visits that we've experienced thanks to all the interpreters who were so cordial and informative as they went about their farm tasks. We loved the collards we sampled and came away with freshly made corn shuck dolls.

We came here by accident while visiting the nearby aquarium and are glad we did! This is a great example of mid-19th century farm life on the island. The living history participants are very knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds and facilities are well kept and historically accurate. The live animals add an element of realism to the farm.

Very cute and unique little spot. You learn a lot about the way of life for this old family farm, it feels like a little time capsule. Feed chickens, tour the grounds and house, blacksmithing demonstrations, and swing on a beautiful 450-500 year old tree. Worth the $10 admission for sure. Great way to reconnect with a slower pace of life.
