The front desk "guard" guy was very rude and disrespectful. I tried to ask simple questions and the guy just says, "I don't know, follow the QR code." Then the next guy comes in and all of a sudden the "guard" guy is nice. This rude man must either be sexist or racist because the flip of his mannerisms just floored me. Also, I was never notified on the SSI website that I would need to make an appointment if I wanted to be seen. It's not like I can get to the office easily. I have narcolepsy and menieres disease and I need someone to DRIVE me to wherever I need to go. Hence the reason why I'm trying to apply for benefits. Why cant anything dealing with the government be easy? That's fine, I'll contact my state representative and get this ball rolling. Did it once before and all of a sudden people remembered how to do their jobs. Do better!!!

THE WORST place ever!! They took all my kids FOR NO REASON!! My 3 kids we're happy, healthy, and they was never abused like what they say!! They are completely against me getting them back, even though we're doing the things on the court order, INCLUDING getting a house of our own, but nothing is good enough for these people!! They keep on adding stuff for me and the father to do, and out of ALL the social workers we have worked with, we only got along with 1!! WORST. PLACE. EVER!!

I'm not gonna go into detail bc there is a lot of good about this place or what could be good at the same time though there is a lot of bad. They are great for helping you out with food stamps and Medicaid and that's only if you meet certain criteria and it's crazy how someone who works and has children and are struggling to pay their bills can only get limited amounts of help due to them not counting their full expenses but want to count their gross pay it is ridiculous. I don't get how or who set up the system there but that part of it is horrible yet they are quick to hand out Medicaid and food stamps to people who are unemployed and aren't seeking to work it's like they have it backwards but that's just my opinion. Also I've learned a lot during the past few months due to an incident that occurred and as of right now DSS has custody of my daughter but I am going to do everything that it takes to get her back I just think it's crazy that the ones that actually are neglected and abused it seems that they are left and neglected and abused by the government to stay in the homes of the ones that are doing it because I don't believe they can make money off of them that way. Yet the healthy beautiful ones it's crazy because them they're the ones that they want and granted I made a lot of mistakes but I did not deserve for my child to be taken and putting foster care and with multiple amounts and files and pictures and proof of DSS working against me and going against things that were said nothing was done so it is me against the world it seems like however a mother's love for her children is nothing compared to what they think that they can do to keep us apart. I will get my baby back and I will do it the right way and I will give them everything that they want. But never again will they come into my life ever so be careful who you let into yours

Raised my granddaughter for 16 years, felt like I had no choice except to bring her to Cumberland Hosp. In VA(4 1/2 mi away) or they would take her away. That’s her picture on that day. I wanted to pick her up after 2 weeks & was told their taking custody after I got there. She has cut & drank laundry detergent in their custody. Have not been able to see her since 7/11/24 or speak to her since 9/13/24. They had no right to take her!!!

The absolute WORST. You can turn in all the needed information on time and still receive benefits late. I've contacted administrators, supervisors and case worker consistently for the last two weeks and no response. Showed up in person and was told by the end of the week and it'll all be handled. Here I am... Still waiting.

They need to get it together up there. They had one job and that was to order a food stamp card. I've been waiting for 2 months. Then they find out they sent it to the wrong address , one that doesn't even exist. They say they resent it to the right address but after 2 months, I don't trust them to do thier job right. So I don't know

Update: I called and turns out they sent my food stamp card to an address in Mooresville this time. This makes the 3rd food stamp card they have had to order for me.in the time frame of 2 months. They are really not focused up there and they think an apology is enough but it's not.

This is the WORST DSS ever when it comes to kids!! My case worker didn't have my son's best interest at heart from day 1!!! She lied from day 1!!! She was COMPLETELY AGAINST me EVER getting my son back!!! No Matter What I did it was NEVER good enough for her and I'm NOT the only one she has done this way!!!!! She needs to be invested!!!! She is the most horrible person on earth!!!! This WHOLE department needs to be investigated!!! There are some great workers here but most of them are not!!!!!
