If you don’t want free food then don’t go!! I am reading some of these bad reviews and we all need to understand. This is in fact, free food. The people that give us this food are volunteers. Thank you for your service to all of the volunteers! Any little bit is very much appreciated.

The food is greatly appreciated and the volunteers are awesome. The only thing I have a problem with is the type of food given out. The grocery stores that donate don't seem to realize that people need real food...meat, veggies, frozen food, side dishes . You get silly things that most of the time I have to throw away. The bread and baked goods are usually expired. . Food is old and stale. It's the stuff they can't sell. Not everybody likes the hot and spicy. Another problem is you don't get enough to last at least two weeks since you can only go two times a month...

Was in there a couple of times, you fill out a basic application then are told a schedule of when food is distributed. They will try their best to meet your dietary needs but most of their food is donated so meeting those needs may not always be possible, you will most likely end up with a cart full of groceries, including meat, veggies, fruits, milk, yogurt, cheese if available, bread both sliced and bakery, bakery goods and some form of desert, and then a bag or two of assorted shelf stable items like canned goods, cereal and such. If you have a cat or dog you can request food they may or maynot have it. But it is free. I have had their products and the food is turned over daily. You can call and inquire about the their hours usually Monday through Thursday from 11am to 3pm, don't show up late as they promptly close the door at 3pm. If you would like to volunteer they have many openings as well. Speak to Katie.

What can I say, They are the best. I don't feel like I'm being judged, as with another food bank I've been too. It's clean, friendly Atmosphere and I thank God for their service each time I'm there. When in their neighborhood, PLEASE drop off a canned good or staple food, plastic/paper bags. If you have a few hours of spare time, maybe volunteer. It's a most marvelous organization, they help so many people in so many ways. My heart and thanks go out to all of them. Amador County is truly blessed to have them. Thank you one and all.
