Ms. Julie Doung was very helpful. She is very professional and always offer her help to people and been handling my case. She patiently reviewed all my documents and instructed me to complete all forms. She's definitely one of the best workers at the El Monte office.

The lady at the front desk is not careful with your private information. I went there because I was told someone might be using my autistic son's social security there. I Expresse my concerns to the lady at the front desk. As we were waiting she was on her computer for a while she started talking to her self saying some numbers. When she was done she says out loud that was your son's social security number. In a room full of people. I was worried before I'm really worried now.

The service offered by the IHSS OPS II El Monte is great. They reviewed and took my paperwork immediately. The agency is actually a big help to families that need assistance with caring of a young or older individual with disabilities.

The process however, it's something else... We started our process in January and it's now May and we are still waiting for the "PROCESS" to be completed. I feel that like most state or government offices for public services the try to be so thorough in their investigation process that it drags on too long. Although they did inform us that we would get back pay it's not always guaranteed since I was also told that they only go back three months. I was also explained that my application is probably on someone's desk waiting review. So, in the meantime I have to wait "another two weeks to see if all forms and documents are complete and that are filled out correctly". How crazy is this? By then it will be almost five months of government burocracy and delay in services. This is not the only government agency whose work process leaves one with a headache.

Truly the worst, I should sue them at this point, I've submitted at least 5 W4s so I can have taxes taken out and they just return them with no explanation as to what is incorrect and no taxes taken out still. I really am considering filling suit for every yr i tried to submit a W4 and it was rejected with no explanation.

The 2 ladies work in the front desk are supper mean and rude, they are helpless and racists. We came and ask for help but they didn’t do anything, gave us bad attitude and kicked us out. Hopefully, government would hire someone who is nice and do better job than them.

Went to the office to do a name change and submit other paperwork. I had previously used the online chat and was told to take a form of ID for the name change. When I arrived the lady at the front desk (who has a heavy accent and is very difficult to understand) informed me that I needed my social security card and a form of ID or else I could not do the name change. I had dealt with this lady before, I recognized her voice from past calls that I made to IHSS. She always seems very confused and doesn't understand what I'm saying. I told her that I had been told just to bring a form of ID. She told me she could make a photocopy but that it likely would be rejected because I didn't have my social security card. I was really mad about this because I had asked prior to driving up to the office and was told just to take an ID. I finally got frustrated and left. I went to my car and called the IHSS helpline. After waiting for about 20 minutes and being transferred three times I got a hold of her supervisor. She was able to find a copy of my social security card with my new name through DPSS database. She called the front desk lady and let her know that all I needed was to provide my ID. I went back inside and she took a copy of my ID and gave me an envelope to put all of my paperwork in. She said I had to write my name and other information on the envelope. I didn't have a pen so I asked her if she had a pen I could use and she said no. That's very odd considering that she's sitting at a desk all day long handling paperwork. I found a pen on another table and use that while she was texting on her phone. I really don't understand why they would put her in charge of the front desk because she doesn't seem to understand what people are telling her and she's very difficult to understand as well. She also seems rather passive aggressive. I'm just happy that I was able to get this done, especially after having to drive over there for 20 minutes, waiting in my car for another 30 minutes, and then having to drive back home another 25 minutes. A complete and total mess! The new IHSS chat is not that much better either, basically all they tell you to do is call the IHSS helpline which typically has long wait times. IHSS really needs to get it together because many of us are sick and disabled and going through all of this is incredibly difficult and frustrating not to mention dangerous during a pandemic.

The worker's are so rude that they have to hide from everyone.
They probably pushed someone over the edge and they lost their cool.
If you go to the building don't expect to see your worker in person.
The front desk people will just hand you a general number to call them and if you are lucky you will hear from them in a week.
Im glad i quit and don't have to deal with them no more.
Happy day's are here again! 😀
