The female manager is extremely rude. She doesn't appreciate any volunteers who come to work there. She doesn't care about getting volunteers help. She is rude and terrible.

This is my 2nd time here. Their customer service sucks. First time they treated me and other people like animals for trying to get basic information. 2nd time they handed out numbers; I got skipped because I went to move my car closer. Told them what happened and they said I had to go to the end of the line even though I was in line since 8:30am. I didn’t have to do that last time. I tried to leave but can’t because other cars boxed my car in. I don’t have a choice but to stand in line & suffer because of this organization’s lack of communication and human decency. Hopefully they can do better in the future.

I work down the street from this food bank and every week people pick up food from this place and dump it on the street in front of businesses. Its a shame that perfectly good food goes to waste like this and ends up creating headaches for businesses in the area who are forced to pick up the trash.

One of the oddest food lines I been in.

Near the bus line. But the way they do it. They just let you grab whatever. From the pallets on the ground and its all expired food. Reject food. From the stores.

Staff are really nice.

They have designated food pantry hours:
Tuesdays at 1 pm. Since it's ”first come, first serve”, you have to arrive at least 30 minutes early; otherwise, you I'll be standing in a long line. Additionally, they will give you a card with number designations, and you will be called to receive your food in chronological order. When you go in, several people at a time, you can scrounge around for the food you want on the left or right side of the parking lot, and they do have mounds of food from which you can choose. However, since you cannot browse for too long, 10 minutes on average is how long you have to get your food and then leave the lot. Lastly, there can be delays when you arrive at the pantry, forcing you to wait longer than you already have.

I came here for the first time and waited for an hour, and spontaneously, the pantry members said we had to wait even longer because they were waiting for another shipment of food. I had to return an hour later when they were near my number designation. The third time I came, my grandmother and I waited in line for over an hour, and the volunteers didn’t give us updates on what the hold-up was. If you come here, come at your own risk.

Note: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, you can only get food if you are wearing gloves.

I appreciate Hope for the Heart! They allow my group of mentally challenged Adults to volunteer here. The other Volunterrs/workers (who we have know for 11 yrs now) all treat my people like people. They are comfortable being here and we all enjoy the work and people. The people who pick up the food also are good with my clients. We will continue to help until they don't need us any more.
