Across the street from the "current" post office, this is the OLD post office and it has since been turned into a museum and cultural center for the town of Flat Rock.

Limited hours but the museum has all sorts of materials to view including old newspapers, clothing, pictures, furniture and the like. An interesting look back at the history of this adorable mountain town.

Small and a little overrated but several okay restaurants. Food was good but a little expensive. Not a destination but close to Sandburg National Park and Flat Rock Playhouse.

Nice place to visit for a day or so if you like quaint little towns and the great outdoorrs! Not much else here except the Flat Rock Playhouse. 👍

The new Histoic Flat Rock Cultural Center is an excellent source of information about Flat Rock and it's history. Also a good place for books on Flat Rock and western NC.
