Huge props to Groundwork San Diego Chollas Creek! They are committed to improving the status of the canyons and beautifying the community. When Patrice and Joel stopped by the house to survey about the canyon behind our house, I let them know of an ongoing issue we have had with getting into brush management compliance with the City of SD.

Looooong story short, there was advocacy from Groundworks Exec Director Leslie and Councilwoman Myrtle Coles office staff Monica and Mathew - Patrice set up a meeting between the City's Eddie V. and myself and a few of my neighbors to explain the process, and we were able to resolve an issue that had been going on for over a year.

Groundworks San Diego put together a process that ensures that residents now know exactly what is expected of them with regards to keeping the brush managed.

Finally, big shout out to Sylvia from the City's Brush Management for her support, and to Urban Corps for the outstanding work they did to clear the brush behind my dad's house. It was SO great to see these agencies collaborate and come together. Kudos!
