This local newspaper is a great asset to the Green Valley community. I'm very impressed with their marketing/advertising department. Lorraine Shaw is great to work with! She understands what is important to both the consumer and business owner and is very helpful in putting together a great campaign! For a small local newspaper, I find it to be excellent. They take a lot of criticism for things like political cartoons (which are syndicated) or the rare editorial but that’s from people who only want to see things from their own perspective.

People complained about the amount of Covid-19 coverage the newspaper was sharing. I know some of those people, most of whom are Covid-19 deniers and anti-vaxxers. The reporting is what it should be: relaying the news without bias. That’s pitch perfect as far as I’m concerned.
This newspaper strikes the right cord for a community this size. The office staff is excellent, too, and always helpful.

It’s important to support local journalism. I wish more people understood that.

This paper just increased their news stand price to $2.00 per issue. This sends the wrong message during time of COVID-19! Additionally the paper is not worth the 62 per cent price increase.
