We loved it. I am so glad that We came. I brought my chronically grouchy husband, our ten year old son and his best friend. We weren’t prepared at all. Waiting in line took 1.5 hours in the cold outdoors, then the walk took another 45 minutes. Smart people had cold weather clothing, comfortable closed toe shoes and blankets to wrap around themselves. Luckily, they sold hot chocolate (delicious and cheap-2$) AND hand warmers (1$/pk). I totally did not mind the wait- Especially once we started to play charades on an app. The characters were convincing and we all felt the pressure when harassed by the Roman guards (not bad, appropriate enough for my 10 year old but may have been rough or scary (intimidating, rather)for some 5-7 year olds... I was surprised but delighted to be treated disrespectfully as “Jews” were during that time... It was upsetting and I think that that discomfort is key in understanding and preventing us from making the same mistakes as a society... I LOVED it and will be returning every year. I arrived to get in line at about 8pm and we finished and got to our car at 11:15. We planned to visit Christmas Tree Lane (about a mile away) but many of the light displays were off already. We had a beautifully meaningful experience and will be back to see next years variation of The World’s Greatest Love Story.
Thank you to Ceres and Grace church❤️
