As a member of Girlspring’s Springboarder group, a community of high school girls creating content for Girlspring.com, I was actively involved in monthly meetings and service projects that supported girls and women in the Birmingham area. Being part of this group during my teenage years meant a lot to me. It provided a close-knit community of like-minded girls, all working together toward a shared purpose.

One of the highlights was having an online platform where I could express myself creatively, without the constraints of school assignments. It allowed me to step out of the bubble of my own high school and connect with girls from various schools in the region. By my senior year, I was honored to serve as Springboarder President, a leadership experience that not only shaped me but also helped set me apart during the college application process.

Since my involvement, I’ve watched Girlspring grow exponentially. The organization now offers an array of exciting programs, like She Camp (a comedy camp), a period products drive, a community garden project, and a STEM fair, among others. Many of the Springboarders I worked with have gone on to accomplish amazing things, and I’m proud to have been a part of such a transformative organization.

Girl Spring has helped me become more open with speaking and gave me the opportunity to grow as a writer. I was able to write articles and share some of my experiences with the committee. When we have events I throughly enjoyed my time with them and was able to network with a lot of important people. I am a proud Springboarder and have been in this position since my freshman year of high school.
