I withdrew my two twins about a year and a half ago. While most of the experiences are positive, towards the end of our run, my wife and I were starting to get annoyed in the staff.

Without going too far into it, my son was severely delayed. Rather than address their concerns directly with us, it seems that he was becoming the black sheep among some of the teachers and staff. We had heard some things that were third party and some off-handed remarks (including from the leader of the program) that caused me and my wife to do a double take.

My experiences, mixed with some of the other reviews here, seem to make it clear that your child will not do well here if they have any sort of special need or developmental delays. And rather than address them head on, again, it is all talked about in hushed tones.

While a learning component is there, it is nowhere near the level that you would find at a place like Union Academy. Five Stones is staffed with ladies that will love on your children, not challenge them.

Response to owner’s comment: See, this is the reason you cannot call yourself an educational facility. I encourage you to look up the difference between a delay and a learning disability and educate yourself as well as your staff.

Just because a child does not fit the mold of a typical child does not mean he or she has a learning disability or otherwise. The treatment we got from your staff was deplorable and wasn’t rectified until we had a sit down with the staff and called them on it.

We, as a family, will *never* recommend Five Stones as a school or a congregation.

I deeply regret enrolling my son Logan at this school/camp. Despite being upfront about Logan's challenges and specific needs, the support we were promised was never delivered. Instead, Logan's development was severely compromised during a crucial time for his kindergarten preparation. The school's suggestion to hire a full-time shadow for $20 per hour, without any prior warning, was impractical and financially prohibitive.

I arranged for a highly experienced behavior therapist to assist the teachers, yet received no response from the school. This lack of communication and disregard for expert input was highly unprofessional. Additionally, the abrupt changes to Logan’s classroom environment during the final week of camp were detrimental to his stability, showing a clear lack of understanding of how to support children with OCD and ODD.

The situation was further aggravated by the mishandling of an incident where Logan was required to apologize in front of another parent without my consent or presence. Conflicting stories from the staff only deepened our mistrust.

Logan will not be returning, and I feel compelled to share this experience to caution other parents.

We immediately knew Five Stones was going to be our church home when we walked in the first time! We moved a lot and been a part of a few different churches but Five Stones is the first one we’ve felt like family at. The lead pastor knows you by name which is something we’ve never experienced at another church and the childrens program is AMAZING, our 2 year old (who doesn’t like being away from us for any amount of time) asks us to go to church and gets so excited for her time in the childcare.

Our boys have found such a loving student community at church and knowing they get to hang out with other kids that share the same faith makes it all the more meaningful. We love the genuine care for our community as we continue to relentlessly pursue our neighbors and meet their needs just as Jesus commanded in the great commission. Sunday mornings are just the icing on the cake as we gather in community worship and open Gods word; can’t wait to see more of our incredible community come join us soon!

I have been a partner of Five Stones Church for 10 years. I love this church. The Pastors, members, and staff are open, friendly, and community involved. Very welcoming to new comers and willing to step in their shoes to help them get plugged in. The Pastors deliver a direct and understandable message of God's word along with a personal touch included. This truly makes it a real experience. Have been a member of three other church's in my 21 years in NC. Five Stones is my final home. I can't imagine worshiping God anywhere else.

So thankful to have found our FiveStones family. When we were looking for a church it was really important for us to find one that was Bible teaching, where we could easily get involved and plugged in, had a great kids program and was involved in the community. FiveStones had all of this and more. They are there to celebrate the good, and lift you up and support you during the bad. Forever grateful for this church.
