I've been a loyal YMCA member for the past 10 years, and I've always appreciated the sense of community and friendship that I've experienced with your staff.

However, I had a very disappointing experience today that I feel compelled to share. I brought my kids to the swimming pool, expecting to enjoy the last 30 minutes of swim time as the YMCA app indicated the pool would close at 5:30 PM. We arrived at around 4:57 PM, only to be stopped by the Aquatics Director, who informed me the pool was closing at 5:00 PM without offering any clear reason. I was given the option to either leave or swim for the remaining 3 minutes, which felt dismissive and lacked empathy.

As a working mom with three kids, time for relaxation is precious, and I plan my schedule based on the information provided. It was incredibly frustrating that the app wasn't updated with the correct closing time, and there seemed to be no effort made to explain the situation or show understanding.

I truly believe that for an organization as community-focused as the YMCA, delivering a quality customer experience is essential. If staffing shortages or schedule changes occur, I would strongly recommend updating the app and ensuring the front desk staff is informed to communicate with members ahead of time. This would help prevent confusion and frustration, and ensure a more professional service.

I hope this feedback is taken constructively and helps improve the communication and experience for loyal members like myself in the future.

I grew up as a lifter and as a person here, a fantastic facility, with tons of natural light, located in Cuesta Park, within walking distance to many spots. I had no idea how good I had it....

Best classes in terms of variety and instructors. Pilates, yoga, strength training, aqua aerobics, the Y has it all. Beautiful Cuesta Park at it’s doorstep allows for a nice pre- or post-workout walk surrounded by redwoods. Simply perfect! 🤩

I hate the swimming class because the swim coaches don't go in the water and the showers are never hot. They treat the people with the uttermost worst respect and rudely reply to questions. Shame on you.
