heard Austin Solheim on the local radio this morning, 96.5,
where so homeless people go that don't get housed?
He gave half the picture at best.
But what was the exact reason he did not give the transparent, full picture?
If it's not because he is self serving, what is the reason, Austin did not
Austin very enthusiastic, actually zealous, about politics it seems, with a severe lack of understanding of mental health matters.
Do Republicans have the answers for mental health? Or, do Republicans need just as much help understanding avoidance behaviors, shame based behaviors,
Austin has high expectations, for the homeless to come come come come all over and entertain him doesn't be?

demand and expect an angel to arrive for them while also expecting to kick down and be anything other than a community for the people they are entrusted to serve,
and they also want moral authority.
The worst is their strong arming, their silent need to dominate rather than conflict resolve.
You know as a community the only solution is conflict resolution, but, what is the reason this organization wants to strong arm and dominate rather than conflict resolve, in a mutually beneficial way, where your homeless population is not doing all of the work?

Interventions that rely solely on a person having to make a change themselves to make an unhealthy situation work, does not work.

Change how you do things,
Change how you think about things,
Communicate differently,
Communicate better,
Be more kind,
Be more patient,
Express gratitude,
Smile,
On and on

Just try to get it as right as possible,
do the work,
there are things you can do,
read their mind,
respond exactly how they ask,
turn towards another,
love them more,
look inward,
take the responsibility yourself

These things can work, but not in an antagonistic relationship.

No amount of gratitude, no amount of boundaries set, no number of ways to look at that person, to make the relationship balanced and healthy, works.

you zealously put "the responsibility" to figure it out
solely on me thinking you were smart as hell.

When I had already figured it out, and did not engage.

No.

You allowed a druggie to ramp up abuse because I wouldn't engage.

I didn't take responsibility for that person so you punished me.

If only I took responsibility for the behavior of a druggie I would be where I need to be.

Dirty behavior Kate.

You chose to fail so you could get the easy way out and you were sure I'd be passive and lay down and die so you'd continue to live with the reputation of a saint.

you avoided all the baiting, I made you aware of, and you allowed the escalation as if it was entertainment and a teachable moment.

You needed to be the wiser person in the situation and you proved yourself to be the least wise in the situation.

You chose to guilt me and scapegoat me as the problem Kate to wrap up your work with the easiest solution.

Don't try to protect your ego. You failed me in the middle of my rebuild, the public has a right to know what you did.

The staff here is INCREDIBLY compassionate and hard working. Never a moment of a real break for these guys and they keep pushing. I have never seen an organization so well run and helpful!

Thanks ECHO for being there when I needed it the most. Friendly and non-judge. I feel that all the staff and other clients are like having a second family. Very excited to moving into my unit.

What a wonderful group of people who work here. I've visited several shelters to do trainings and this is one of the best facilities that are accommodating to those in need.
