I called intake and they are always away from the desk since December, it’s ok if they are out of capacity but at least they should inform you, so you won’t waste your time (I don’t like to give bad reviews but I hope this can help them to improve with the future customers ). As today 10/26/2024 I haven’t received a call back 😳 10 months wait for a call back and counting .

If you’re able to, please find another regional center. They don’t have your child’s interest at heart. I’ve had Stacy Ly as service coordinator and she is the worst. We were approved by Lanterman (another regional center) to receive services till my son is 3yrs old. Unfortunately we moved to another city and so we were transferred to ELARC. Stacy kept trying to delay our services. At first she said she can’t find availability then after several months she said oh he needs to be evaluated again all of a sudden. They kept delaying us and when we finally got approved for services again following their requirement, now she’s saying no one will likely take my son because providers prefer 6months or more and since my son is turning 3 soon then it’s unlikely they will take his case. This regional center should not even exist if they don’t want to help children in need.

In November of 2023 I got my case transferred from NLACRC to ELARC because I was going to attend Cal State LA in spring 2024. Several months have gone by, still haven't got an update from them, nor a service coordinator hasn't been assigned to my case. This ruin my opportunity to attend my university that semester because I didn't not get the board and care home (group home) on time. I stoped by the office, they told me that my case has already been transferred, and is still in the process, but they haven't assigned me a service coordinator yet, I told the female staff member in the counter I need the service coordinator, and the board, and care before august of 2024 because of the fall semester. She told in the next two weeks I should get a call or a email that I got a service coordinator assigned. That hasn't occured yet.

Unfortunately, my son got into the program late at Regional Center and the pandemic added more of a delay. I was placed with Elsa Tejada as my child's service coordinator, and I felt that she lack in empathy once I expressed not wanting to put my child in school yet because I wasn't confident that my child was mature enough to start school, she seemed put off immediately. And once my child was going to end his services with the program, she seem to ghost me. It's very disheartening when she works with individuals with developmental disabilities which is a highly sensitive situation for the client and their families, especially dealing with a toddler. But on the positive side, I was very fortunate to be assigned to a great speech therapist that was helpful and supportive.
