THEY ARE LIFE SAVERS HERE! My cat Tawny the love of my life and my will to live was not eating and very constipated. Turns out she had a big log of hardened feces in her. The team was prompt in responding and helping Tawny get the help she needs. Please please please take your animals here if you need help. They work endlessly to make sure our animals are protected, safe, and secure.

Was looking to rescue a dog after loosing my most recent pup to old age. The east bay spca made it a very pleasant and painless experience. The employees were kind and treated the animals with lots of love. If you are on the fence about rescuing animals, don’t hesitate they are the most grateful, loyal, and loving companions. I had a great experience adopting from this shelter.

Welcome to your forever home little guy 🥰

EDIT: Theo is two next month and HE IS THE BEST BOY EVER!! BESTIES FOR LIFE!!

I am so happy and great full I chose this place I am very satisfied with everyone’s help. They worked with me financially and also helped my pet with all of his needs. I would more than highly recommend this place. I don’t want to exaggerate, but I cried of how much joy it brought in my life knowing he would get the best care he needed. Thank you SPCA for your kind support and service for my pet and as well as providing water and snacks while waiting for surgery. Muffin and I love them!

They just need to close all the way down, I brought a cat in that was born 06/03/2023 I brought him in on Friday 10/04/2024 and they would not take him in they assumed that he was an outdoor adult cat without taking a good look at him they just made that assumption from him being in a red tint cage I had brought him in.

They basically told me to put him back from where I got him because maybe someone has already been feeding him which that someone would had been me because he is a house cat. Just shut down staff is being paid for obviously no reason at all he a good healthy looking cat he’s not damaged because he has never touched the outside ground but it seems they are in it for money. The lady told me they wouldn’t accept a adult cat which I find that to be discriminating on all levels because that’s what a animal shelter is supposed to be for is to take them and maybe find someone that is willing to adopt them.

It also amazes me that the SPCA get these animals for free than charge people to adopt the animals that sounds like a scam to me. But like I said it’s just a waste of business it just needs to shut down like everything else is shutting down if you all aren’t going to do your jobs and take in animals.

I volunteer on Sundays and the staff are very kind and work so hard to care for the animals.

We have also fostered and adopted from the SPCA as well. The foster team provided everything we needed to foster 2 German Shepard puppies.

When we said we wanted to adopt both puppies, the very knowledgeable trainers told us that it would not be a good idea because when the dogs would grow up, they would fight because the pups were both males. We heard that information from multiple other sources as well.

We ended up adopting one of the puppies and he has grown into a very sweet, but very large doggy. (Now we have realized, one 85 pound German Shepard is enough!)

Thank you SPCA!

They're Both Extremely Smart, Well Behaved and Little Ladies around the House.

I adopted my adult dog this past weekend and the people here are great. They were very straight forward about everything about my dog has and gave me a ton of advice, tips, handouts, and methods for helping him. Everyone was clearly very knowledgable and wanted the best for the animals. Less than 24 hours in, he's already warming up to me 🙂

I originally went in to look at a senior dog, and the staff was upfront about the extensive dental work he needed, which was not something I could take on up front. I really appreciate their honesty and their efforts to put each animal in the best possible home given their needs.
