Downtown Tempe is beautiful and I enjoyed looking at the architecture of the various buildings. There are plenty of hotels and eating options, so this was a good choice when I visited the greater Phoenix area. The area appears to be fairly walkable but we did see several homeless people and panhandlers.

A truly pleasant ambiance if you're veering away from a university town vibe. It's typically not crowded and remarkably clean. It's unfortunate to see a few shops shuttered, yet there are a plethora of distinct spots still worth visiting.

Downtown Tempe! The most happening place in the valley and around ASU. S. Mill avenue has a lot of cool places to hangout and spend time over the weekends!

I was living in downtown tempe for almost 6 months, so it was a really nice area. Lot of bars, the park it was amazing and the usually have a lot of events and activities. I just fall in love with downtown tempe

Very nice atmosphere if you aren't looking for the college town feel. Not busy at all, very clean. Sad to see some shops closed up. But, there are still many unique places to see.
