I am writing this review after having stood in this line for 2 hours and 49 minutes - Like I literally have been standing here in this NON MOVING LINE watching the staff pretend to be too busy to allow ppl to come in and be serviced. The wait time at this office is ABSURD and reeks of ppl who HATE THEIR JOBS so badly that they want ro make the patrons miserable too. There really needs to be something done about the levels of professionalism coming from the ppl employed here. While I have never had an issue with any employee, I do observe a lot of things that the DPSS employees do to other ppl and its not right! I've literally seen a staff member curse a patron out like an animal and nothing happened to the staff member. They did, however, threaten to cancel the patrons benefits for exchanging words with the staff member. It's literally the WORSE office, so don't believe ANYONE who tells you to visit this office and they'll help you bc they won't help you, but they will waste your entire day by having you stand in line for hours only to turn you away with no help. This office is no better than the office on Grand.

Other than the long lines - which you can avoid by getting here early - we received outstanding service from every single case worker and employee that helped us. Overall a very civilized experience, I don’t understand why people complain about the DPSS so much.

Eli and Ms Valdez do not know how to speak to customers. Extremely rude "supervisors". They must not have been trained properly. They have the worst attitudes ever and talk down on customers. Their "customer service" isn't there. Hopefully you don't have to deal with them because they will dehumanize you as well as all the workers there and security guards. They have no respect for ANYBODY. Ego trips.

This place saved me in extreme despair bouncing from 30 day shelters with $0 to afford even the bus with two other branches turning me down completely for food stamps. There was actually a discussion here about my situation versus in Downtown LA guy was eating a cake and looking at screen while listening to me in one ear then went to talk to his manager came back with basically 'nope, this is the policy - take care'. Missing crucial detail this DPSS picked up on. Its not always peaches here, but what matters most is when it works out, its a relief. And I'm writing this as I'm preparing for life's next roller coaster.

Majority of the workers don't really listen to you, it's like they look down on you & think your lying most of the time but then there is the workers who go above & beyond. Security are irritating & always in a females face but want to be taken seriously. Lol
