Wonderful place for vets to stay when traveling to get health care. I drove up from Albuquerque, New Mexico for surgery and this place was a wonderful, comfortable place to lay my head, relax. I was even treated to tacos that one of the business partners nearby donated for dinner to all vets staying at the hotel.

Iā€™m staying here for one night, because Iā€™m not permitted to drive until after 24 hours. This place is OK but not the friendliest. I receive more smiles in the hospital than in this place. The meals that your doctor has approved, are not at all that tasty. I recommend you take a walk down to the canteen and pick out the foods of your choice. Overall, I give the facility a ā€œBā€ -

Horrible bed, no food, broken vending machines, no hot water in shower...but it was free and I was grateful for the room after a 6 hour drive to see a Dr.

My husband and I stayed at the Defender's Lodge after my most recent medical procedure. The rooms were clean, nice, and large. It is convenient to the PAVAMC. The best part of staying there is the staff! They were warm, friendly, and made our stay there very comfortable!

Our stay was a week and were very happy with our room, large enough for 2 wheelchairs to get around without bumping into each other. Staff was helpful, kind, and polite. Our, rather mine, only complaint is it a non smoking property and have to go about 100yd from door to street, with a slight uphill slant, to have a smoke, all else is good.

... Have been down to this facility on a number of occasions, and it has been a wonderful experience every time.
All of the staff workers there have been so helpful and courteous and polite every time. {They even found a room for me one time when I showed up, and a reservation had not been made in advance}
The rooms and the TV area and the kitchen and dining area are always very clean and totally squared away.
A blessing to have this place to get cleaned up, rested up, and ready for your appointments at the hospital the next morning.
Thank you to all who work here, to make it a comfortable and restful experience ... your efforts are greatly appreciated, and for me the accommodations are absolutely "outstanding" !!
Semper Fi !!
