They don't communicate properly,Drive to the appropriate location for paperwork at first & don't care to help people in wheelchairs..yet personally I'm able to move on my own ,clean up my spot...yet there are people who can go in as guests whilst I'm being denied that opportunity when I never denied services I've stated I don't mind being in any of the programs and they treated me differently from others...I have been recommended by other agencies to Crossroads and they even stated as long as You're able to move around they can help you,They've helped people in wheelchairs,get into the program...one of the staff members isn't helpful and understanding and speaks for others on their behalf..So much for a shelter...mind you I was told to acquire paperwork for DDS an agency apparently stated by other workers from crossroads mission that they can help me with housing or in better words a place of my own yet Going to the DDS with the paperwork just to be told by their employees that they can't offer housing recourses...it's miscommunication from crossroads mission after asking the appropriate questions doing calls just to be basically lied to ...and told before I got kicked out "It was a different agency that said they can help you" they've never once mentioned any other agencies prior...and I can't go back even as a guest and redo the process again...?

Though there were more than plenty of Thanksgiving day volunteers who were eager to help, it could have been better organized. An atmosphere of Love was prevalent and that more than made up for the mayhem. There was enough food to feed an army, and second and third helpings were offered to all present and some even brought plates back to loved ones who couldn't attend in person. It is clear that the Yuma Crossroads Rescue Mission has a strong sense of community. They sell t-shirts (see the photos of the red one) for a mere $6.00. I hope to have an opportunity to volunteer there again.

If my husband called me, the message didn’t always get back to me and if you have an iPhone that requires the lighting cord, it sucks because most staff don’t have the wire. At times, your iPhone battery will be dead for over 24 hours and you will miss important phone calls, urgent emails/texts and you won’t be able to use those flashlight apps to check your heartbeat! Food is sometimes great, sometimes too Mexican (I’m not Mexican and some of the Mexican foods I didn’t grow up with so the meal is too different for me to enjoy) and sometimes I hated a meal and barely ate it. I don’t like it when my chocolate pudding touches my salad. Sometimes people would tell me I should get a job and talk about their problems and such when it was three am and all I wanted to do is write in a notebook to calm down so I could get back to sleep. I don’t need a heavy life conversation when I’m writing so my panic attack goes away. For some people, this isn’t a life party and some people think it is and play music an hour or so before that 4:30 am breakfast time or whatever time it is. I lost so much sleep here. A pregnant woman needs sleep. Teenagers need to lower that iPhone/iPod/Tablet/Laptop down. It’s not that hard to adjust the volume. Teenagers need to be aware this is kind of like a hotel. People eat, sleep, shower, pee/poop, do work and such here just like a hotel. Please let people sleep until breakfast time if they want to! Most of The people that work at the Mission are great. A lot of the people that are in the programs there need to be taught manners. And how to respect other people. You would think they would learn this from the Bible. Since their programs are religious based.
I'm only staying as a guest . So my opinion doesn't have much weight. Please don't get me wrong,they have helped me out with a lot of things and I am very grateful. If you are homeless or in need of help. I recommend the Mission. God Bless

I call Crossroads Mission when I need labor. We needed someone to shovel and spread gravel for our landscape. I called 2 days ahead of time, and we picked up 4 guys. They all 4 worked really hard to get our job done. These guys do not have cars or money, so I feed them well, make sure they have plenty of water and drinks, and I always pay a minimum wage, but if I see they worked really hard for me, they get paid more…they worked about 4.5 hours each that day. My husband paid them each $100.00. They need it. Keep in mind that many are skilled tradesmen who have just fallen on hard times. Not all are druggies, though many are. The ones who want to work are usually having a hard time or are seriously trying to rehab.
