I use to live here when I was in the 10th grade. I was able to go to Reynolds High School. I lived here 91-93 and it was amazing. I enjoyed myself and had a great time

I lived here for over a year or more. I think my house was the Epworth Cottage.
This place was a safe haven for kids like me and the kids who had no other families, there was also a day program for adolescents! There was a school period while living here which was great! There was a time and day for church and the pastor was just awesome!
The staff during the time I stayed will always be in my heart forever! The staff made a HUGE IMPACT on my life and I wish I could see them again to say thank you and hug them! Every single teacher ,even the ones for cooking and PE were the BEST teachers I HAVE EVER HAD! I wish public schools hired teachers like this place has!
At the end of my 8th grade,which was the end of the school year...they had a prom for the entire school! That was pretty awesome!!
It was really hard leaving home and getting used to a new place, BUT living here also prepares you for the real life and the situations that you may have to deal with as an young adult! I was able to have a "job" on campus, a couple of cents to a dollar or 2 was my pay lol...I helped with the care of their horses on the property!
The young ladies that I shared the house with became my family, there were those certain girls who were just mean period. There were also the down to earth, most accepting girls I've had the honor of knowing! I'm so glad I made a photo album because I can look back and remember the time in my life filled with awesome people who helped me grow up!
That was...about 18 years ago lol
I had heard around a couple of years ago that they sold the place! I hope that it's still a children's home for adolescents and children!!
Also...The Children's Home can only help other's by the help and support and probably the financial donations from the community and the state itself! I remember the girls and I were not looking forward to Christmas because we were in the home,away from family, some had no family, we certainly didn't have the money to gift each other either! The people of the COMMUNITY donated gifts to everyone on campus! I wish you all were there to see the surprise and joy on our faces, even the tears of shock and relief some of us couldn't hold back any longer!!! The younger children were just bursting with excitement and happiness when the staff brought them in! Just the knowledge that somewhere there were kind and thoughtful people who cared about us was plenty!♡ You brought not toys or clothes into our lives but HOPE and JOY and LOVE!!! That's what a community should do for each other in my opinion! Thank you to the community as well!!♡♡♡

This organization is very difficult, after complying with all their requirements my license were terminated because I moved instead of inspecting my new place or doing a change of address, They terminated my license for being "unstable" how offensive. We had a kinship placement and with this type of chess moves she had to be sent back to the group home environment, my mother is also licensed and they refused placement because I would be in and out the home and my license was terminated. As though I was unfit, if they don't want to work with us anymore just say so.... A waste of our time, very calculating and difficult to work with.
