I had an appointment with Maggi Mendoza. She told me I needed to call another number to reset my account / password and call her back. I called her back and she never answered. I left her a voicemail and she never called me back. Now what? Do I have to wait for another appointment? Do you have any idea how hard all this is to navigate and get an appointment, only to be treated this way?

I'm very disappointed. The gentleman I care for his wife had tried for three weeks to reach out to this office (Donna). Phone calls were made messages left and emails sent in regards to assistance that we could possibly recieve. Donna explained that key people were out of the office for the week. That she would figure out the information we requested but never did; we had to keep contacting her again with calls and emails. One week doesn't cover three weeks of why we couldn't get responses or even pay for the caregivers. I'm sure she didn't wait on her check while she was out. Very unprofessional especially with people who are needing care.
No one should wait three weeks for a check when then money is available. I even did the calculations for her of what was there. Most importantly my client had to go else where for care. What a shame!!

I like the response I get when I call them for information about resources that are available to elders here in Asheville. They never respond with I don't know. They're always helpful and do a nice job at pointing me in the right direction. Thank you Council on Aging of Buncombe County NC

went over an insurance policy with me that I was thinking about taking out. They saved me thousands of dollars since I saw it was not in my best interest to take it. Never regretted it. That was 3-4 years ago

Council on Aging was helpful and professional with my 84 year old sister who has dementia and I have Power of Attorney for. Buncombe county social workers Deanna Fox and Nancy Galloway were unhelpful. The two county social workers had an Asheville Police Department report (APD 1044) filed on them for verbal abuse towards my sister and her caregiver, and for property damage to two doors at my sister's home. Social worker Deanna Fox then made numerous false accusations in a claim for a guardianship, that was properly dismissed.
