Chief Tony Cerda is the recognized leader of Bands of Indigenous Americans in California! Not only is he Chief... he is the custodian of a wealth of historical artifacts that span the entire area.
There is a park in Pomona named after this gentle, giant leader.
You can visit the Tribal Hall and little known Indian Museum in Pomona on Second Street...(just call ahead).
Boxing has been a favored sport of Pomona and this Chief was the main inspiration...developing among others "Sugar Shane"...The World Champ.
He is on The Advisory Board of Gangs 2 Grace Youth Boxing Club...offering wise council to the youth coming up.
The Ceremonial Dancers of the Tribe are nothing short of spectacular! They will be performing at The Pow Wow this month.
One of the most interesting things I've found in Pomona is this history you can see...smell...touch and feel. You get a real sense of where we came from...and how we got here.

Have never been to the tribal council, however your purview of our heritage is sadly misspoken!! I am of your heritage and shunned by yours and all communities COMBINED, because I am of MIXED BLOODLINE!! If you cannot accept a 0.04 percentile of your own BLOODLINE, then you are UNHOLY IN THE EYES OF THE ANCESTORS AND ANCIENTS!!!!
