Just got off the phone with a Jill Martinez, she is rude has no empathy for a Veteran Daughter, who was told by DAV to call for assistance in filling out the many forms they make you fill out when the VET PASSES AWAY! She should be ashamed of herself, and I pray she finds a "SOUL".

My son just got out of the military and he needed help on knowing what he is eligible for so someone suggested going to the VA office. Well I can say the front staff was very helpful and pleasant BUT the guy Fred we seen is awful! He is very rude and will talk down to you and yell which is not acceptable he should not be allowed to assist any veteran! He is very negative and the whole process you will walk out of there feeling hopeless. I’m glad we did not have him fill out the paperwork for disability we will go to a different office. If you go to the Martinez VA office DO NOT TALK TO FRED!!

Everyone in this office was wonderful toward my husband. We brought in all of his records and medical information and they were able to get him the disability benefits he so rightly deserved (at the time he suffered from several Agent Orange health issues; he is currently terminal from Agent Orange cancer). They answered our questions and they treated him with dignity and respect. I will be thankful to them all the days of my life for what they did for my husband.

If I could give a negative star rating, I would. I've had two bad experiences there. One with a Fred, who actually literally laughed at me when I wanted to submit a claim for an often denied condition. Not cool. The location is close to me, so I thought I'd give it another chance and talk to another rep. I spoke to a Sidney. Right away he was negative about a claim I asked about filing, even downright hostile. He made sure to tell me he used to work at the VA and reviewed applications and he knew what he was doing, in a very condescending manner. He made sure to tell me his son works as a insurance claims investigator and catches a lot of people filing fraudulent claims. He had little interest in the paperwork and medical records I had brought in to support my claims and only took a small portion of it to submit. When I left the office, I had a very negative feeling in my gut and it triggered a huge amount of anxiety that has continued to build into anger and resentment. I really don't know what they are there to do, since they didn't help me at all. I just went on line and filed the claim myself. If I need any help in the future I absolutely will not go there and will drive 100 miles if I have to.

Recently had a visit with CALVETs at a satellite office in Danville, my VSO rep was Chuck and he was awesome. CALVET mans this office on Wednesdays but my appointment went flawlessly, Chuck seemed very knowledgeable and also a great guy to talk to. Semper Fi, Chuck.

I received extraordinary service from Mr. Jones, he had the task of going through all of my military, and VA records to establish my eligibility for CRSC. I gave Mr. Jones a cardboard box filled to the brim of my records. He smiled and said I will go through this.
I would encourage any veteran who needs any type of assistance to go to the Martinez County veterans service office.
