The staff was incredibly friendly and despite the long queue, the entire process was seamless, from the security personnel outside to the dedicated employees indoors. I would recommend arriving a bit early, as there can be a substantial wait indoors. However, even if you happen to miss your designated time slot due to the crowd, the security personnel are reassuring and accommodating. My overall experience was fantastic, and it enhanced my appreciation for the quality of American customer service.

Had such a smooth and pretty straightforward process. It went much faster than I thought. Didn’t have to wait in a line and was allowed in pretty quick. I had also locked my things away in a kiosk that was 1 minute away from the consulate. So I didn’t have to worry about not having my phone with me. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

The whole process was very smooth and the staff very nice and helpful. Maybe I was lucky and I went on a day which was not so busy. I waited outside in line for 40 minutes, it just took me around 30 minutes inside for the whole process! They took my biometrics, and had the interview. After a few basic questions, the interviewer said my visa was approved and I received an email in just two days saying that my visa was ready to be picked up.

This and Vienna have been by far the best experiences at the Consulate General of the United States of America. The staff were very efficient, fast, and with the degree of American politeness that I always appreciate. I arrived about an hour before my appointment and they actually let me in, I don't know if this is an exception to the rule or I got lucky, but that saved me a lot of time so I could continue with my day. They have a system to keep your phones but please don't bring bigger electronic devices because there's no chance you can get away with that. A person said there was a kiosk close by where you could store your belongings, but I didn't see anything (I left mine at the Central Station).

Wait a minute, I need to put this right!

The staff was unbelievably friendly, with a great sense of humor, I liked that.
After I smoothly passed through the 2 windows, I finally reached the last one (The interview). The officer was so helpful and accurate. He asked me 3 questions, and in less than 4 minutes, my VISA was approved. No document was asked for.

I highly recommend it, prepare well and make your appointment. Good luck to you all

The staff is extremely friendly! My appointment is 7:45am and I was here at 7:25am and already 35 people ahead of me.

You can bring the phone in. The security is very friendly. They will give you a token and store your electronics for free.

The passport will be mailed and I received things within a week.

I want to say a big thank you. Very friendly staff. Very quick and fast !

Smooth security check and helpful stuff. But a horrible 1,5 minutes interview. I applied for a tourist visa, I am Ukrainian and have a temporary asylum in Germany. I was not asked any questions about my income or salary. (I am officially employed for 18 months in Germany). Two questions: 1 what countries I have visited and second and the main questions was if I was married and had kids. I am single. After that I’ve received a blue paper with a “no”. Single ladies, get ready to receive a “no” for your visa! I have never faced a DISCRIMINATION before, so I do not know if it was a discrimination or not. I was just surprised and even did not try to say anything else. And was not asked for that. It was not an interview, it was just a rude remind that I am single and can not travel due to that. Same embassy agent told a man during an interview that his salary was not big enough and his wife did not work, and it affected a decision for his visa. Who says that?! And the whole line was listening to this. It is such a private case who provides in a family. Horrible humiliating experience!

People tend to come earlier than their appointment, therefore you might not catch your exact appointment time. But they are very flexible with that. If I wouldn’t take laptop with me, I’d finish everything probably in an hour as my appointment was early in the morning (07:45) and there weren’t many people in front of me.

Securty team is extremely kind and friendly. It’s better not to take laptops with you as you are not allowed to take them inside. There is a kiosk in 5 mins distance where you can leave your belongings. You are allowed to leave your phone, smartwatch on the security step after turning them off.
