A company that buys houses and converts them to rentals operating under the guise of a company helping people to attain home ownership. They do not sell homes to deserving individuals. They rent them perpetually, exacerbating the rising costs of homes by removing them from the market. In doing this, they are forcing more people into perpetual rent and locking them out of building generational wealth or owning a home that will aid in comfortable retirement. They increase their net assets every year by sucking up homes that will never be owned by individuals as long as this organization exists. It is an unfortunate fact that CLAM tricks naive people that are trying to help future generations, but by trusting CLAM, do the exact opposite. Net assets 2015: $1.7M. Net assets 2019: $4.8m. They use their rental income to pay administrative salaries in the six figure range and absorb more homes to trap Bay Area residents in the endless cycle of renting.
