The experience i had at the shelter was great, I had some tips from my neighbor who volunteers at the shelter. We bought our dog willow with us because they require a meet and greet before adoption. The staff was amazing and so nice, they told us to leave our dog in the car while we went through a few books to see what dogs they had available and they had us pick a few we wanted to meet. We filled out a form and after seeing her, fell in love with Kiki, a bully who was a stray. The staff allowed us to take her home immediately after she met our pitbull & boxer mix willow outside in a pen out back. They let us know she had not been spayed yet and we would have to bring her back for a night to get it done. They gave us a blanket for her from the girl scouts, a bag full of food and toys for her and a leash and collar. It was a great experience overall and we saw that the shelter needed alot of stuff to help the dogs so hopefully for those who see this and want to help I will post the wish list they had and we are going to bring whatever we can to help. If you would like to help it would be greatly appreciated these dogs are so precious and just need to find homes but while they are there they still need food treats toys etc. I hope this helps anyone thinking about adopting. You also can fill out forms and become a foster which is also a great help and very appreciated.

The beef I have with Clermont County animal shelter is Angie Livesay and me had a conversation Because she would not let me walk through the kennel and as a taxpayer, she works for the taxpayers of the county And as a taxpayer, we have a right to check in on our county employees to make sure that they are doing their job She refused to show me their Policy she also has lied when you adopt a pet from this shelter, they have you look in a photo album and when you go into select a dog, you want to meet with the dog in their own habitat not have to look in a photo album. How do you bond with an animal in a Picture this is not the end of my quest to Get a copy of their policy, whether I have to do a foyer request Among other things, what these people forget, we do not work for them. They work for the people of the county and they need to respect their employer, which is the public.

And to me not letting me walk-through as a taxpayer, it makes it look like they are hiding something

Me and my wife went there to get a new member of our family got really attached to a dog named Bel Air and was told we couldn’t take her home with us because she got to excited when meeting us that we would have to keep coming back till she wasn’t so excited around us then we would be able to take her home. I’m sorry but we live over a hour away and not making multiple trips there and back to get her to not get excited to see us. I thought dogs should be excited to see their owners. Friendly employees but don’t know anything about dogs behaviors. So if your looking to adopt a dog from here don’t be playful and try to play with them or your not going to be able to take your new baby home! This place is ridiculous!

My friend found a new buddy today. He lost his dog about a month ago to lymphoma.

The staff were very nice, the shelter was very clean, and the dogs all looked healthy and well taken care of.

Best shelter I've been to hands down. Everyone there super friendly, helpful & so impressed by their knowledge, as willingness to help us with deciding which furbaby was best for us. It's very clean & animals look very well taken care of. Amazing experience there, will recommend to others, & will be making more visits in future. The hour drive was so worth it.

The WORST adoption experience I have ever dealt with. This isn't my first rodeo either when it comes to adopting animals. But this is my first time dealing with Clermont county animal shelter and this will be my last.

Organization - poor.
Communication -poor.
Volunteers knowing the policy - poor.
Workers knowing the policy- poor
Foster outreach- poor.
Materials provided to you that were promised ( food, cage, etc.,)- poor.
Follow ups- poor.
Dog training provided to foster parents - poor

In a sum, this organization needs a major haul in learning how to be an animal shelter. It is a disgrace how they treat their foster parents, and their soon to be adopters.

Got both of my boys from here, an easy adoption process and everyone that I spoke to seemed nice and like they cared. I absolutely love both of my cats, and would recommend everyone to go here and take a look, or atleast play with them for awhile!.

Clermont county animal shelter DOES NOT have a vet that comes and checks the animals nor is there one on site. There are many animals who are in pain and need medical help , Not to mention the way they are kept in there cages and they have to eat where there are bodily fluids so close , oh and the respiratory illness because of the mold all over the ceilings.. This is terrible check out my FB post and listen to the press conference speaking on how terrible these animals are being taken care of, It’s extremely sad for a dog and cat owner and animal lover in general as my self .. Stephanie Renee ….
