Chiqui Social is more than just a thoughtful, project-based, bilingual learning studio. The founder/director Lizet Alvarez has created a community space for families to celebrate many aspects of Latin American culture. Our daughter has attended three camps there, and each time, we felt that she showed more speaking confidence and fluency in several weeks than she did in a year of her Spanish immersion program. Lizet has an amazing eye and joyful spirit, and has created an inspiring, respectful, inclusive, and empathetic environment that supports creativity among peers. Much of the learning happens through visual and dramatic arts, but also includes music and culinary arts. It is a true gem of a place and a model resource for families looking to support conversational Spanish outside the classroom or home.

The community has needed Chiqui for a long time and now they are here! Lizette does an amazing job of making Spanish fun through enriching well thought out activities. The space is beautifully decorated and inviting. The prices can seem a little steal but once you see the product you will realize it’s worth every penny. We have participated in camp, dance and the Saturday class which have all been fun memorable experience for our 5 year old. Although we are bilingual parents our daughter used to respond in English and sometimes get upset if we spoke too much Spanish. Now she is eager to learn Spanish and responds with basic phrases which will be a huge help when she starts Spanish immersion kindergarten.
