I went here a few months ago, just for a week, I felt really safe, and it was awesome. I never felt like I was being shamed for my situation (even if it was a little pathetic), and all the staff were all very friendly and nice. I was able to be in a safe, comfortable place that felt like home while I thought over my situation while also going through therapy there. The therapist I had there was also the best therapist I’ve ever had. And also, if you are LGBTQ, they are supportive. No staff doubted my gender or sexuality, no one questioned me on the name I went by, respected my pronouns and it was very casual and non judgemental. The staff treat you with respect even as a child, they take you seriously. Some of the best advice I’ve heard was from one of the staff members. It doesn’t feel like a shelter at all, more like a safe place to stay while you sort out you’re problems. Although what happened after my stay there was horrible and it was partly their fault, it was a special occasion and things turned out really well. Awesome place

I had to spend some time at this place in the early 80s. It was one of my better experiences as far as being a ward of the court, etc. etc.. glad to be reading reviews similar to mine that they are still doing a good job. Keep up the good work!

This place was amazing! Seriously. I always felt confortable and joy. It is such a safe place and the people there are amazing. Also the food is delicious. They offer a lot of therapy and fun activities to help one relax and live away from reality for a while. I really enjoyed my experience, it was the best week of my life.

I loved staying here! This was probably the best of the 3 different youth shelters I was at. They are very supportive and you grow a bond through the two weeks, but then once you leave its upsetting😰 But they have hearts unlike most people who see mids like us. They actually help you out. If any staff is reading this, and they remember me, I miss you guys!!

As an E.P. (extensive placement) resident, I can genuinely say that this place has done miracles for me and those that I surround with myself with. From staff, to the homeaid food, to group, to the basketball courts you'll find yourself having a great time. Miss you kathleen!!!! ❤❤

It's a great place for kids that need to get away from life and home although I think they could have done more for my son when he was there but that's neither here nor there please support this shelter it's helped so many children and you get through
