Nope.. can’t stand these entitled people who think because they took a 40 hour training course they are now “qualified” social workers. They look down on parents and do not understand minimum level of care/ poverty/ cultural differences/systemic racism/generational trauma/ addiction/ mental health and the system. Many parents see them as another person looking down or judging them, putting their own expectations and not knowing about the families. There are some good CASAs of course but not many, many look at these families like they are volunteering at a pound with abandon pets who need to be rescued. They make the already unfair and difficult “system” harder.. and yes, I have years of first hand experience with this program and working with CASAs.
