I came here this summer from July into August. It was a really nice camp, activities/cabin/food wise. I came here with my best friend at the time, and we both agreed that the girls there were constantly excluding us and making us feel left out. Our counselor noticed this, but she did nothing to help alleviate the behavior. If anything, she was actively contributing to it. She ignored my concerns about sitting on the grass (I get a rash for some reason) and she just rolled her eyes. She yelled at us when we tried to come into the cabin to grab something during free time, favored the other girls, and it was obvious that she didn't care about whether we were okay or not. This is just my experience though, and I'm sure there are many other counselors. This made me not want to go to sleep away camp again, because between the girls and the counselor, it just wasn't fun.

Great camp and very orderly. Counselors and office staff friendly. This is a Christian camp that focuses on tweens and teens across North Carolina and the Southeast. Camp counselors are respectful. Managed very well.

This quaint camp sits beside Lake Gaston. The children and youth kids from my church absolutely love this place. It's one of their favorite spots. The owners and staff are incredible. There are lots of great activities - wall climbing, a high ropes course, a giant swing, archery, etc. It's so much fun to stay in the renovated boxcars and they are very clean. I also appreciate that the camp is working to be eco responsible.

Very fun and lots to do and the food is amazing! But I wish they let campers in and out of cabins/box cars during free swim. If you’re looking forward to bringing your child here please do and I bet they’ll love the red shark!

Willow Run is a great camp but year after year their registration process is simply awful. It is one of the worst registration processes I've ever had to go through. Their 3rd party servers that host the registration process can never keep up and are flat out terrible. Year after year we are told they are working to make it better but year after year it seems to be worse. The camp itself is great though and would definitely recommend it...if you can manage to get your child registered. I work in technology and our systems process millions of payments daily so its not a matter of load on the servers but a company that willow run uses that can't handle the load.
