What is the difference between them and Lafayette Council on Aging. Contacted them cpl times to inquire about where to get help with minor housework for mobility impaired 69 yr old living alone. Lafayette Council on Aging has program for this but they are still on their waiting list since Nov 2022. I know several 65+ people who are on Medicaid who are receiving 15-37 hrs weekly for free and only had to wait less than 1 month to receive this help. Appears to me something need to be made available sooner for those who are only on Medicare even if it means the recipient having to pay a reduced rate than what it would cost to hire someone directly from a Home Care Company because they tend to charge $25/hr min & very few seniors can afford that amt.

Every senior citizen should have a counselor at such an agency. They truly look out for our wrlfare, help us find the right Medicare Supplement, and help or assistance in time of need. This agency is a Godsend!
