Very loud in front desk, they handle the service very loud versus library culture! You can hear them from every corner of the library…. I wish they could keep it silent

Visited here for a short period of time nice library. The librarian at the front desk was very strict with my senior citizen mother who was sitting on the couch area for teens and requested that she move to another area. Granted it was 11:00am on a Tuesday morning and teenagers were still in school. My mother was polite and moved as she requested. She asked where can adults or senior citizens sit.
she politely answered in those hard chairs over there. That was a bit harsh in my opinion and there was not even anyone inside the library except myself my daughter,my mom and roughly four other people. But it's still a nice library. Great place to visit as we travel across NC public libraries.

We LOVE our library!! Always receive a warm and inviting welcome from all who work here. It is clean and well organized. They have a really cute children’s section with plenty of events - weekly storytime, community events, free monthly kits, and more. Their online system is a great resource as well. A lot of time and effort must have gone into their system and it shows! We are so thankful to have a library like this in our community!

I visited to work on an extensive report. needed to use the restroom and they were locked. the Librarian would not let me in unless I put all of my work away first. I was the only one there and that was about a 5 to 10 minute process. How insane. they are on a power trip and should be replaced with people who know how to work with people and not treat a 56 year old like a child.

Brown Library is a rather wonderful little gem. The staff pleasantly greets you upon entering and are always willing to help. They have many books and movies for all ages, and free activities at tables to play with, and computers for those who need. They also have great programs and events throughout the year, and are very community focused.

I came all the way from Wilson, NC to do genealogy work with my children. This is a big part of our homeschool practice. One staff member was irritated by our existence, "because of the kids". My kids weren't doing anything out of the ordinary. I respected the staff members feelings anyway and moved to the children's section. She continued to follow me around to express her concern that my kids were going to be rambunctious.
I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed. Staff was trash and weird.

This library has so much potential. Unfortunately, the library has currently become overrun with power-hungry feminists who see it as their role to heckle patrons over minor issues like seating. The current atmosphere is not the friendly community atmosphere we used to have.
