Bread and Roses Cafe is a Mainstay in Venice for those in need of a hot meal. It offers a sit down style hot meal for those in need.

Supported by St Joseph's Church, together with Martin and Charlie Sheen et al., Bread and Roses provides restaurant quality hot meals 3 times a day 5 days a week for those in need.

Bread and Roses' Chef and Kitchen Crew go out of their way to provide creative, gourmet style dishes that do not disappoint.

Plus the all volunteer staff is outstanding and tireless as they provide unlimited coffee and drink refills.

Even the amazing security staff chips in and helps out when it gets super busy.

My biggest takeaway however, is that sense that no matter who you are or where you may be on life's journey, you are treated with both RESPECT and CLASS and are able to leave with some dignity.

I consider it very important institution and valuable asset to the community.

If there is such a thing as the Lord's work, Bread & Roses Cafe is doing it!

So we just moved here it’s me and my wife and our 2 sons. People kept telling us to go here and it’s supposed to let you go in like a restaurant and get served a hot mean we were beyond excited. And we go inside and since we had kids they wouldn’t let us inside we had to wait outside in the cold to get served. My question is what restaurant wouldn’t let kids in? Definitely won’t be going back here there’s no rules on their website or outside the premises that say no children. Basically just ruined the whole day.

No pictures due to respect for the patrons but it was my first time here and it was clean, fast, and professional. Came in found a seat and got served shortly after. Im glad this is open to help with a hot meal in the morning to get my day started. I think they have vegan and vegetarian options available as well as coffee. 5 stars

I was recently a student of the St Joseph's Culinary Training Program. And I was assigned here to get training at least once a week. You would be amazed at how much love and care chefs James, Christalla, and Sarah put into cooking and serving their meals here. It's not like just all place where the homeless get to eat. Oh no, it's much better. It's an actual restaurant and it feeds 100+ people on a daily basis during the week Mon-Fri. I'm sure people on the streets probably wish this place would at least be open on A Saturday. But alas it isn't. I'm sure if you took a survey and and asked people on a scale of 1-100 how good is the food. Some would probably say 1000 while others with say 1,000,000. I'd even venture to guess there'd be a few to say 10,000,000+. If anything I will say this much. I've already told all 3 chefs that I wish I had known a place like this existed when I was on the streets, and that's for damn sure.

This is by far the most amazing place for those less fortunate to come to for 9 am, 10 am, and 11 am feedings at no charge considering its a cafe i mislead myself by assuming its a restaurant that would charge to eat.

The meals they serve are 5 star restaurant quality food that is hardy and will fill you up everyone you come in. I love the coffee they brew and also the teas and lemonades all in a full coarse meal that i know of they wanted to they could charge an easy $15 to $20 a plate.

From what i discovered by asking around there are a hand full of celebrities that donate to make these amazing meals happen whoever they are on behalf of those who gets the luxurious opportunity to partake and indulge in such meals peeped and cooked with nothing but love.... thank you, we appreciate it.

Every time i eat here, i will gladly take a photo of such masterpieces and post them so the celebrities will know that their contributions are truly going for the cause they meant it to go for.

This cafe serves the less fortunate in our community with pride, meals made on site with fresh ingredients, and respect. Hot meals made 5 days a week served from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. I will be volunteering again in the near future! Keep up the good work, keep making people feel special! Jamie is the most AMAZING staff member. Always happy to offer a smile w that amazing coffee! He never judges nor makes fun of the homeless but treats them as human beings with his kindness, respect and compassion throughout the pandemic! HE is the JEWEL at Bread and Roses and worth the APPLAUSE! PROMOTE THIS GUY!
