An incredible way to build friendships, knowledge, outdoor skills, leadership, and have some fun on the way! This troop has given me experiences I will remember for all my life (in the most positive way) through all the camping, climbing, backpacking, river stomping, service, canoeing, rafting, and many more activities. Adult and scout leaders are excellent, and the troop is almost all boy-led. I would highly recommend to anyone considering joining 🙂

What drew me to Troop 80 is that it is boy-led. It is very important to me that my son learn independence and leadership skills in a supportive environment, and I feel having teen role models who are truly leading has and will continue to be invaluable to him. In addition, Troop 80 has a good balance and variety of trips. And it's fun! My son has been having a great time on the trips and in the meetings alike.

My son never went through Cub Scout. Upon a friend's recommendation, we joined troop 80 and we never looked back! Even though he is a bit on the quiet side, he still finds his voice within the troop. It is a true boy led troop where they boys determine trip planning, lead meetings, and manage their own advancement. The positive peer pressure is the best way to motivate them to keep going instead of being pushed through for the sake of ranking up. Troop 80 is also known for its rock climbing trips and they truly have been one of the best experiences for him. If you are looking for a great group for your son to journey through scouting and Monday nights work for you, come check it out!

An outstanding that is truly "boy led". As a parent, I have enjoyed watching the scouts, including my son, be stretched and matured as leaders. The quality of the outings, adventures and camps have been top notch. If you're interested in a troop size that will allow your son and your family to truly get to know the scouts and families Troop 80 is an excellent match. Come by and visit!

Our son joined Troop 80 about 3 years ago. He was looking for a troop that was right for him and he landed at Troop 80. I've watched him grow, learn and develop skills he would never have without Troop 80. There's a great mix of boys of all ages, really caring adult participation (cuz it's fun!) yet it sticks to it's mission of a boy-led troop. As an only child it was important our son built "a community" of his own and with Troop 80 that's just what he has!

Troop 80 has been around for more than 50 years. It is a boy lead troop. What this means is that the boys actually lead the troop. I was told when my son joined the troop to, "keep my hands in my pockets". Let them try to do it themselves. We are only there to guide and only take charge if absolutely necessary. My son thrived in this environment and loved it. He is an eagle scout currently with the troop. Advancement is not pushed on the scouts. They choose to advance at their own speed.

Troop 80 is a very active troop. They rock climb, go on backpacking trips & went to the channel islands this year. I am so grateful for troop 80.

Troop 80 has taught my son to be a proactive, organized planner that respects authority and owns his personal responsibilities. The activities has been the highlights of his teen years thus far. I cannot say enough about what this troop has done for his character and leadership developement!

I'm a Boy Scout in this troop, I've been in the Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts organization since I was a Tiger Scout. I really enjoy our troop, we go on TONS of different trips, and we are an almost completely scout-led troop. We all get to go at our own pace with Rank Advancement, too, so we can actually learn the skills of scouting instead of just memorizing it for the requirement and then forgetting it afterwards. If you are looking for a troop with lots of action, fun, and tradition, THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.
P.S. I wrote this on my own time, not because my scoutmaster or Senior Patrol Leader asked me to. This troop always likes new members(and old ones too ;)!
