Horrible. My heart wife attempted to let these guys know she received boxes of molded and rotting produce at the Mesa location. She reached out and they were very rude in their response. We have gotten produce through this for 2 years, and this was the only negative experience. When my wife provided them the following photos, she was blocked on their FaceBook account. Calling their produce a “gift.”

They open at 9 am. Not 7 like Google says.
We picked up more than 10 cases of produce for $10

Quality produce. It is already selected, boxed, and ready for pickup. $5 gets you 3 plus boxes of available produce/fruit. Bring $5 bill. They only accept cash and sometimes cannot make change.

I didn't want to leave this review, but feel I should share my experience, so others can make their own decision. I have had multiple issues with way too much moldy and rotten produce the day of pickup. Another time, I only received 1 box of produce instead of the 2 I ordered and paid for. The 1 box I did receive was literally trash. I sent multiple messages between email, FB Messenger, and FB comments. No one would respond, so I had to dispute the transaction with my credit card. I'm patient and understanding, however, the last straw was when someone finally responded a month later, they were incredibly rude!!! There is no point in "rescuing" literally rotting and molded produce. Then to have an entire attitude about it really makes me question the ethics of this "non-profit." Waste of my time and money.

Why should we continue to support a produce rescue organization when the produce they are distributing is literally garbage? For three years, I’ve been buying one to two boxes of produce monthly to share with friends at my cost. The last three distributions I’ve had to throw out over half of the box because it was unsalvageable. I don’t spend $16per box for compost material. When I sent my concerns to the coordinator of the program he said we’re fine with you no longer participating. Really? It appears they rely on people who won’t push back on the spoiled produce they’re trying to push off. What a shame that a good organization with an honorable mission has fallen victim to people who don’t care about their mission.

Great for what they do, but they could protect the fruits and veggies from the sun better to help it last longer. They should go through the citrus and remove the moldy ones from the box. Citrus can be stored a long time if done correctly and mold is the number one thing to take out a whole box of citrus. I use to service Sunkist Growers Association computers and learned a lot on citrus.

Very rude short Asian lady has a higher than thou attitude. Never smiles and seems to always be in a bad mood. I appreciate all the other volunteers but this woman does not belong there. Thanks for all you do and appreciate the produce. I live in Amado.

For $5 you can get boxes of produce. You might want to stop by a food bank on the way home to donate some as you'll receive more than you can use. Some may be spoiled but most is fine.
