I didn’t take the photo inside the temple room to show respect, and one kind reminder that you have to make appointment ahead of time for a visit. The gentle lady (Mable? not sure if I correctly spelled the name) was very friendly and knowledgeable. She can speak Cantonese. However, I speak Mandarin. Luckily, I really adore TVB dramas, so that I have been trained a little bit to understand and pronounce Cantonese. The temple is very decent and they have a museum room next to the temple room, which was donated by the Chinese community. I have been detailed introduced to all the exhibitions, and I really appreciate the time of the Madame Mable. I will definitely pay a visit again next year when my family come to visit me. This place is very peaceful, and I feel so touched and moved with all the stories the gentle lady shared with me! Again, appreciation and best wishes.

A great historic landmark! I didn’t get to go inside the temple but it was really nice to walk around and see the gazebo and the plaques. It’s really well taken care of. I hope to go inside the temple someday and learn more

What a gem in the “middle of nowhere”! Who would have guessed that rural California has such a rich Chinese tradition and presence. Well, of course it has- they built the railroads and worked in the mines. This is an amazing temple. It is open to the public during festivals, like during the oldest parade in California: BAK KAI. The dragon on exhibit ist the oldest performance dragon in the world!

If you're in the area, I'd recommend checking the area out. There is more history in Marysville than I thought. This would be an additional stop while you're checking out the historic landmarks. I would end or start the date at this spot with a picnic. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY

Unfortunately the homeless have defaced this temple by writing graffiti all over it and it doesn't seem that anyone cares to clean it up or maintain it. It's littered with garbage and disgarded bedding and smells like urine at times.
It sad really the lack of pride is so obvious by the lack of care of what could be a beautiful temple and tourist attraction for our little town.
However the silver dollar saloon next door is great, well maintained and history rich. So just vere left.
